Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

It sure is.  Now take your black Sharpie and mark out all the places on the packaging and the DVD itself where it says "Havoc 2" because it's a total disgrace to NAB that they slapped that moniker on this movie that has nothing to do with that utter piece of trash, Havoc.

In this case (on the front at least) she needs to take Wite-Out to Havoc 2.  Why let them ruin the package more than they already have?

There must be a reason why Havoc 2 is on there??

New Line did put a Double Feature out, so they must be connected somehow.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

They are not connected in any way.

NAB was not conceived as a sequel.  The creators were not even aware of the previous film.

They have no characters or behind the scenes people in common.  NAB is a difficult movie that New Line got cold feet about.  They didn't know how to sell it so they slapped that moniker on the DVD as a cynical marketing ploy.  It was also recut to the degree that the writer, director and Amber hated it.  In fact they set up a website to put the screenplay online and encouraged people to bypass seeing the movie and just read the script.

Still, I think NAB is a fascinating, brilliantly acted movie.  I would recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind having their notions about sex challenged.

Havoc is unbelievable trash that I would recommend to NO ONE.

See them someday.  You'll understand.  You can also probably find plenty of articles online about this stuff.

Got this to add to my expanding collection;

I've never heard of that show Skins, Simon but I'm going to check it out.

It is a good show, but not to everyone's taste. It includes a lot of bad language, drug use, sex and nudity, and these are all coming from under 20's. Although i think in America, they have cut out the sex and nudity.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Of course they cut the sex out.  The people that run American entertainment are such prudes.  :fedup:

But damned if they don't love to blow stuff up.

Yep that sounds about right. Apparently Skins is very raunchy for American audiences.

It's the complete opposite in the UK. It's the violence we don't like.

I found a video on youtube which contains some of the milder scenes of nudity from the first series, obviousaly the full frontal shots are missing. I don't know if it's too much for American audiences.

If anyone is interested the link is;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G3FPb3gUmII

but i must warn you; it contains NAKED PEOPLE! (particularly 18 year olds) tongue

Don't look at the robot, but look at the right side and it kind of looks like a see-through Vulcan head.

Family Guys is amazing! I have all of the seasons on DVD. Volume six isn't as great as the earlier seasons but it's still good.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Great movie, incredible performance from Amber.  Left me just stunned at the end.  Make sure you listen to the commentary track after you see the movie.  Amber's great in that too and you really get a sense of how cool and smart and adorably quirky she is.  She's also really insightful about the work.  I just loved it.

From everything you've been telling me about it, I'd been dying to get it.  It sounds great.  I sure will listen to the commentary after I watch the movie.  Thanks!

I like Dr. Who but I still prefer Tom Bakers.  That Dr. Who liked scarves as much as Joan.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Dave loves the whole thing too, all the Doctors.  I never got the fascination myself, but then I like a lot of things nobody else gets.  But hey, one of my favorite people in the whole world, Pauline Collins played the Queen in one of the recent series.  So that's pretty cool.
