The Messengers is a good movie. It may be a little freaky but not scary.

Awesome!  Maybe when you have time to watch some eps, you'll get inspired to write some more.  smile

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I actually did write a J/C fic last night as a response to a request.  But I hate it so I didn't post it.

But hopefully, yeah.  I've been on a Big Bang Theory stretch lately though.

I like the real guy, though.  Taking paternity leave during?  That's a real new-age PM!  Can you imagine Dubya or Nixon giving up a few weeks in office to change "nappies"?

No, but he lost most of his creditbility when he became Bush's poodle.  I still haven't forgiven him for that.

Same here, Deb, same here. But with the movie I can just enjoy Michael Sheen's talent and that's what counts for me here.

Aaaand, guess what? I have a few new DVDs to add today! (Yeah, I should be ashamed but I got some money back from the class I am currently doing because the employment agency wants me to do it, so I did a little retail therapy. LOL
I ended up bringing home all three LotR Special Extended Editions because they were sooo cheap and I wanted to have them for such a long time now, so I just bought them. And then I came across a really cheap 3 Johnny Depp movie box which features Edward Scissorhands, The Ninth Gate and From Hell and since I love all three I just had to buy it. *sigh*
Now punish me. LOL big_smile

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

Oh, I absolutely love Michael Sheen in that movie.  I want to see the other movie where he played Tony Blair as well, kind of the sequel to The Queen.  You might say I love "Tony Blair", but not Tony Blair.  LOL!  I also want to see Frost/Nixon because of Mr. Sheen.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

I bought some DVDs over Easter, including my very first Blu-ray. Somehow I wish it had been something a little more spectacular, but I had wanted this one for a while and it was cheap enough to buy as Blu-ray:

Nope. I wanna see The Hurt Locker first, which I might watch tonight, but Knowing is next on my list. I'll let you know when I've seen it.

Re: Post your recent DVD purchases

That's a pretty cool shirt! I like it!

And I have quite a bunch of new DVDs to add here, I'll add pictures later:

Ordered from America:
The Runaways (finally!!!) and That Evening Sun
I guess The Runaways is fairly self-explanatory (heehee) and That Evening Sun is a little indie film I got to know because I was doing some research about Hal Holbrook (who you may know from Into The Wild) and I ended up ordering it just out of curiosity, but after I watched it I am not regretting the decision. It's not a very happy movie, but a really great one.

Brought home from the UK:
Dead Poet Society
I saw this, like, 10 years ago for the first time and when I saw the DVD on sale at HMV I just had to buy it. I loved this movie ever since I watched it for the first time. And then I watched it again a few days ago and realised that this is where I know House's best friend from.

Adventureland
Always wanted to buy that one. My KStew collection is growing.

Moonlight - The Complete Series
Box Set of the TV show. I always wanted to buy it and it was also on sale and they gave it to me for almost half the prize, so I thought why not.

and last but not least:
The Haunted Airman
Yes, another Pattinson movie, but a great one (I think). It's that kind of "dark" movie I like and it's actually played really well.
