Re: The Invisible

LOL! You're right, Chris did a great job. The opinions about the movie itself here on the board seem to differ. Some people think it's an amazing movie, some think it could have been much better. (I don't think anything thinks it totally sucked, right?) I myself thought it was an okay movie but could have been much more if they had edited it differently.

By the way, we already have a thread in the "Chris On Screen" section about the movie.

Re: The Invisible

They never show it in the movie. But everything points towards that Pete actually died because he did so in the book and he also did so in the original Swedish movie. Also, Deb asked Chris about it when she met him in January last year and he said Pete was supposed to die in this version of TI too.

Did you know that there's a lot of deleted scenes with Chris in them that showed his character in a completely different way? It was the way his character was supposed to be in the movie until they changed it. It's still a good movie though but mostly just because Chris is in it.

That's interesting because I don't see it that way. How did you think the Pete in the deleted scenes was different from the one in the actual movie?

Yes, tell us more. To be honest, I really didn't like his character, although Chris did an awesome job with it. I am curious as to how he came off different, as I haven't seen the DVD deleted scenes. (Yet)

Re: The Invisible

The only difference I see is that Pete was even more pathetic, if that's possible.  I don't want anyone to get the idea that I hate this movie.  I don't hate anything Chris has done.  Whatever it is, it still has Chris in it and I always enjoy him.  What bothers me about The Invisible is that he gave so much to this movie and they took the meaning out of his work by not allowing Pete to die, like he was supposed to.  And yet, we're never allowed to understand him, or really care what happens to him.  His fate is only a curiosity because they refused to let us see it.  He's reduced to a mere plot device.  The final cut is pretty disrespectful of Chris's efforts.

But dayum, wasn't he wicked cute in it?  big_smile
