You better delete everything I ever said about Wentworth Miller and Paul Adelstein from this thread. Without asking me first, of course.

Okay, to come BTT, my copy of Eclipse didn't arrive today! :crying: But I neeeed it! What am I supposed to da when I am finished with New Moon??? Which is going to be soon. Today I was totally distracted at work. It was like I was aching for continuing to read the book and when I am reading it, I'm not reading it, I'm absorbing it. This is crazy, isn't it? LOL I think the last time that happened to me with a book series was Harry Potter. Oh, wait, I mentioned Harry Potter in the Twilight thread. Shoot me. LOL
Oh, and the audiobook's also not here yet. But I'll go to Mike's thread to complain about that!

When you're finished with New Moon, you're supposed to read Eclipse. And when you're finished with that, you're supposed to read Breaking Dawn. And when you're finished with that, you can read the 120 pages of unpublished PDF manuscript that Stephenie Meyer gave up on. Or else you can start reading The Host. I think all that should keep you busy at least the next few weeks.

Already almost thru New moon? Anne, you're getting faster. Just what happened to me. It only took me half the time to read new moon as it did to read Twilight. They keep getting better and better and I learned reading faster and faster thanks to that. I wouldn't even call it reading anymore. It was more like gulping it like there's no tomorrow. Now I'm seriously planning to read Twilight again next weekend.. Can't wait. Answer me this; should I read Midnight sun before or after reading Twilight?
Offline
Oh yeah, I got definitely faster. I had some difficulties to start with Twilight, but that's always the case with English books. I just need to get comfortable with the language. And then I don't even need to know every word to be able to follow the story. I bought Twilight just out of curiosity because I thought it'd be nice to know the book before seeing the movie and just for fun I bought New Moon, too. And now I'm not even watching TV as much as I used to. The Twilight saga really got me back into novels again and I'm so happy about that.
Didn't expect that in the beginning, thought. I thought maybe it would be a nice teenage vampire love story, but then I started reading and the further I got with the book the more I was hooked with it. That was a great feeling.

OME, Edward isn't supossed to sound like he does when Ryan reads his lines. Too funny!

I found another question that bothers me. If they're not getting older and have to move every two or three years, what do they do with their ID's? I mean, they have to get new ones, right? Does anybody know if Stephenie Meyer has answered that question somewhere? I guess I'll check her website tonight. LOL It just came to me because I had to think about Moonlight (the show) this morning. Or I'll wait until I have read all the books and then ask again. LOL

It's kind of answered in Breaking Dawn, I think. I'm pretty sure Bella goes and buys a fake ID off a guy who knows (and is scared of) the Cullens. It's been a while since I've read it though.

Ah, okay. Well, I have to wait until I am reading Breaking Dawn.
BTW, Eclipse has arrived here. So I can finish New Moon tonight and start Eclipse tomorrow. Now I am kind of sorry that I didn't order Breaking Dawn too because I might read Eclipse on just one weekend. But I'll try to read it not that fast and order Breaking Dawn next week. Funny thing is, this time our postman didn't take it back to the post office for me to pick it up there, no, he gave it to the couple that lives downstairs from me. And that is funny because two weeks ago they had to take the DVD player for me because I wasn't there when it arrived. So I am going to try to order Breaking Down to arrive on a Saturday. Hopefully that'll work. I can't make those people getting all my mail. LOL

Things are going crazy...
NO SEX, NO VIOLENCE, NO STARS, NO. 1: 'Twilight' Takes Biggest $32.7M Bite Out Of Box Office Friday; Bond #2, 'Bolt' #3
SATURDAY EARLY AM: First numbers show that Summit Entertainment's low cost blockbuster Twilight opened huge as expected because of heavy pre-sales with $32.7M Friday from 3,419 theaters, including $7M worth of Thursday midnight shows, for what should be $65M for its first North American weekend in release. (One rival studio bigwig thinks it made as much as a "jaw dropping" $35M, telling me: "Even figuring a big drop tomorrow, it has to be a mid-$70sM weekend.") Fangirls -- or should I say fang-girls -- were buying 5 Twilight tickets per second as of early Friday morning, making Twilight online ticket-seller Fandango's fastest-selling film since The Dark Knight last July. Then the tween and teen females in store bought or homemade Twilight clothes (and even Twilight tattoos) flocked to the first Big Screen version of Stephenie Meyer's bestselling series of Romeo & Juliet-style vampire romance books. Yet the movie adaptation was made by start-up studio Summit for only $37M.
This will be the start of a big new franchise since a sequel is already in the works. The first box office record has already been broken by Twilight's girl power: this is the biggest opening for a female director. Catherine Hardwicke is easily beating Mimi Leder's $41.1M for 1998's Deep Impact. (But with an asterisk since these figures aren't adjusted for inflation, ticket prices, etc.) If Friday's figure holds, then Twilight will have the 2nd best opening day for a November release behind Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, and the 16th highest opening day gross ever, beating the first Harry Potter and just behind the 3rd Lord Of The Rings.

Summit Entertainment announced today that the studio is officially moving forward with the production of New Moon, the second installment of its filmed franchise vampire love story Twilight which took the biggest bite out of this weekend's box office for No. 1. (I first reported this on October 13th, Summit Readying 'Twilight' Sequel.) The follow-up will be based on the second novel in author Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series titled, New Moon. "I don't think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment," Stephenie Meyer said in the press release. "I'm thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on New Moon." The enormous success of Twilight in theaters this weekend is a defining moment for start-up studio Summit, which had struggled with its early produce. Meanwhile, on Saturday morning, Twilight stars Robert Pattinson and Kristin Stewart issued a former "thank you" to fans for their box office support making it the No. 1 movie this weekend and also announced the sequel as well.

Since Mike Newton is part of the New Moon book too, I assume Mike Welch is also gonna be in the sequel. Yay! I think all the actors signed on for the initial movie and, if they were gonna be shot, two sequels.

I went crazy in this new, huuuuge bookstore in Stuttgart today ... I bought Breaking Dawn there (along with a lot of other books. LOL) I definitely spent too much money on myself this month. LOL I bought ALL book of the series, but when I finished New Moon yesterday I noticed that I needed a break before I can start Eclipse, so I took that for today. And I didn't plan to buy Breaking Dawn, but when I entered the bookstore, there was this huge table with all the Stephenie Meyer books in German AND English and so I just had to buy it. That way I will not have to order it from amazon, so there is nothing to worry about the couple living downstairs to take my next package.

I saw the movie earlier. I'm not gonna be all spoilerish, but it was AMAZING, followed the book extremely well. And you don't need to read the books to follow the movie.
Offline
I'm glad you liked it and that it follows the book pretty well. I can't wait for the movie to start here. Hopefully the OV will be available somewhere near here. I'm not going to spend money for dubbing I already know I won't like.
And you don't need to read the books to follow the movie.
Too late for me. LOL

I'm gonna see it sometime this coming week once the hysteria dies down a little. I'm glad you don't need to know the book and I bet if Laura liked it I will too.

Same here.
I just wish I wouldn't have to wait so long! But I guess if they're not showing the OV anywhere near here I will have to ways for the DVD anyway.
But if I can catch the OV I hope there won't be too many teenagers watching who start screaming out loud when Robert Pattinson comes on. But I guess they'll all watch the dubbing.

There wasn't actually any screaming in the theater, that shocked me. The only time things kinda got out of control was when the movie started with no sound, which caused many many girls to be very upset. There was screaming and chanting.
Offline
LOL! I bet that scared the crap out of the projectionist.

All through the little games and stuff on screen from the theater, it was totally silent... other than the sound of teenagers talking. There was sound during the coming features, then the minute "and now the feature presentation" came on screen, there was a pop and the sound was gone. I don't think anyone really realized at first, then the movie really started and someone goes "oh, you gotta be kidding me". Then the angry screaming erupted. Then the whole theater started chanting "we want sound!". The movie was quickly restarted, this time with sound.
I'm kinda hoping my ex, who works there, was the projectionist. It would be kinda fun to scare him
Offline
Teehee. Something similar happened when I was seeing The DaVinci Code in the theaters with a friend of mine. It wasn't the sound, but after the first 15 minutes of the movie were over the picture was suddenly gone. The sound was perfect, it was like listening to an audio book. LOL
The cinema people only noticed that after another 15 minutes and then they discovered that there was something wrong with the projector and they had to cancel the whole thing and gave us free tickets for another screening, so we went there again the next day. I hope that will never happen to me again.
