Oh, did you guys ever hear about what the original Twilight movie was supposed to be like? To start with... Bella was a track star. Who slept with Edward basically the first time she wanted to instead of the build up over the three books. And the FBI were after the Cullens.
I went to see the movie twice, once with my mom and once with Dacota... I was on my best behavior with my mom, but with Dacota we were kinda acting like idiots. But we basically always act like idiots when we're in the same building.

Well, Laura, had I been in that same room with you, watching the movie for the first time, I would have cursed you. Seriously, when I came out of the theater and it wouldn't have been in the middle of the city with lots of people around, I would have screamed out loud.

Ugh. Sounds ... bad. What's a track star, please? Never heard of that word and LEO doesn't come up with a translation.

We were at least keeping our insane giggling/talking to a whisper. There were people who were screaming the whole way through. Me and Dacota had to get a ride and leave early, I threw leftover popcorn on the screamers

Track star: http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.p … track+star (I believe option 2. is what we're looking for.)
Plus, Laura was joking, I'm guessing, in response to me saying Twilight shouldn't feel like an action movie.

TeeJay, that's not what I meant by track star :embarrassed:. She was on the track and field team at school. The star runner.

Oh, okay. That was in there too, option 5. How was I supposed to know? :clueless:

Yeah, I figured it was supposed to be a joke after I posted. LOL I guess I am just too tired now. I should go to bed ...
And now I still don't know what a track star is!

I don't know a German word for what Laura was saying. Someone who is a great runner, who wins every race. A track is a Laufbahn. Like what they run on for Leichtathletik. Get it?

And, no it's not a joke. Do you really think I'm that creative? You can look it up.
It was the original MTV script, they seem to think teenagers are only interesting in pretty and popular sporty people. Stephenie Meyer read the script and was appalled by it but she didn't have the power to tell them they couldn't make the movie, so she sent out word to her fans that Twilight: The Movie, was not Twilight: The Movie and only the names were the same. After MTV realized they'd lost their entire audience, they reformatted the script and let Stephenie sign off.

Seriously? Wow. That is so wrong, in every possible way. But, hey, I should know all about this. Apparently, teenagers also can't deal with cancer being mentioned in a comedy.

Laura actually told us about that Bizarro World script before. And um, they didn't "reformat" it, they ripped it up and started over from scratch.

Good review, TJ. I agree with a lot of what you said. When I went to see Twilight it was also on a Sunday and it was opening weekend but there weren't that many people in the theater and no one was that loud overall.

Yes, a very good review, Tina. You pretty much summed up what I hated about it. I just can't emphasise enough how much I hate the script. I think the actors were all pretty good (some better than others) concidering what they had to work with. The movie isn't the real Twilight for me but a shadow of the greatness it could have been. And the same person has done the New moon script too so I don't have high hopes about the movie, but now that it's certain that atleast the cast stays the same, I'll watch it.
And who asked if I've seen Taylor's new body.. yeah I have and of course my response was: + "he's too young, he's too young..." *dramatic acting; what the heck I'll even through my hand on my forhead and pretend to faint* "...be still my heart, one more year and then it's leagal to drool...."

Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate the script. I actually thought it was done pretty well, considering that they had to squeeze a 400+ page book into a 90-minute movie. In my eyes they did what they could with the low-ish budget they had. No doubt, they could have done better, but I wasn't too disappointed by the script. However, I can understand that people might be, especially those who are deeply in love with the books.

I just saw a video on youtube where he showed off his muscles yesterday, that's why I asked. I'm amazed at his accomplishment even though I'm not personally attracted to him.

WTF? I'd stop watching MTV if they ruin one of my favorite book series!!!
I wonder if I'll be disappointed with the movie since I am one of the people "who are deeply in love with the books". And yes, I am proud of that. LOL But I guess it's going to be like with the Sisterhood movies. I love both the books and the movies, I just need to differentiate them and not compare them to each other. Let me see if I can do that with Twilight, too. Unfortunately I still don't know if I can see it on my birthday. The online schedule shows only until Wednesday and it's going to be changed on Thursday.

You probably will be disappointed by the movie if you deeply love the books, Anne. The movie really is not that good, especially when you compare it to the books. I like it for different reasons, and I'm surely gonna buy the DVD. I also wasn't disappointed, but probably mostly because I had already heard mixed reviews beforehand. I hope you can appreciate it for what it is.

I guess I'll see if I can appreciate it once I can finally see the movie. I'm still keeping a little hope for Thursday, but not that high. I hope they'll show it not that long after my birthday. Like I said, I guess it's going to be like with the Sisterhood movies. I love both the books and the movie, I just need to part them from each other.

I saw the movie first, so when I read the book I noticed that the two probably shouldn't be compared. The book is so much better if you compare them but the movie sticks to the majority of the key stuff. The camera angles were awful at some times making me insanely dizzy but overall I thought that it was great in it's own way. I thought it was one of the better book to movie things I've seen although it wasn't exact.
Hopefully you'll get to see it soon to see what you think.

That is why I rather read the book first before I see the movie. Because the book is almost always better than the movie.

Well, to be honest I had little interest in seeing it when I did the first time. I thought it'd be a stupid overrated teen thing but decided to see it anyways because everyone here talked about it so fondly. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised. I ended up seeing it again after I had read all the books too which was a much better approach.

As soon as I heard Mike Welch was gonna be in Twilight, I knew I wanted to see the movie. I made a conscious choice to read the books before I saw the movie. Of course it only really dawned on me a lot later just how big this whole fandom and Robert Pattinson mania was. If it wasn't for Mike Welch, I would probably have stayed away from the books and the movie until the hype died down. I only started reading Harry Potter after book 3 was already out. So, Mike, I believe you owe me.
And I'm glad you gave the movie and the books a chance, stars.

I loved Michael in Twilight too.
But I think he would make a great Emmett Cullen as well.
