Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

Interesting. If done right, it could be made into a good movie (if they leave out all the stuff that made the book a little lengthy to read at times). I assume it's Nick Wechsler of Roswell, right? So, who do we want cast? How about Amber as Wanda/Mel and Chris as either Jared or Ian?

I never got very far in the book, so I'm gonna start reading it soon again.  But I did picture Sprague Graden as Wanda/Mel in what I read.

That's also a good choice, though in my mind she was always sandy haired or blond somehow.

I thought she had green eyes and light brown hair.  Or am I thinking of another book?

No, you're probably right. I just usually don't pay a lot of detail to that kind of thing and create my own picture in my head.

Same here. I need to see if I can afford to buy the New Moon soundtrack somehow.

Oh, and I still have pictures from RingCon to share. As I said in the other thread, it was incredible. I know I said before that I wasn't fond of meeting a Volturi and a wolf but ... well, the wolf had to cancel again and I got the most coolest picture with Daniel Cudmore! big_smile
And Christian was great. She even performed a Spice Girls song on stage with two other fans, that was totally cool. LOL It's just that I can't share pictures right now because I somehow lost the camera cable. I'll upload them as soon as I found it, I promise. :embarrassed:

There's been way too many trailers and clips to ruin New moon. Here's another one. You've been warned... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSkw6Xa6YoM

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I just heard on the radio that New Moon sold 57,000 tickets in pre-sale in two days in Germany, which is a record sale. I don't think I'm gonna watch the movie right away, I'll probably wait a week or two because my experience watching Twilight on its first weekend was so horrible. I don't wanna watch a movie ever again in a room packed with a hundred 16-year-old teenagers who can't hold back their giggles and sighs whenever the Pattinson guy appears on the screen. Totally ruined the experience for me.

Well, I'm still planning to watch the double feature in my theatre on November 25th, but that's not open for pre-order yet. But - you can be sure of that - as soon as it's open, I'm going to purchase my ticket.

Nope, I'm not kidding. See, I prefer solitude in the theater to a huge audience, at least for non-comedies. I wanna relish a movie while I watch it, I wanna delve into it and live in its universe for the time it plays. I don't wanna be distracted by the guy next to me knocking over his beer bottle, the guy in front of me crunching on popcorn or doritos, or, in this case, the 100 or so teenagers all around me giggling, snorting, sighing or whispering whenever Robert Pattinson appeared on the screen.

For me, watching Twilight on a Sunday afternoon on the first weekend, it was pure stress. The little girlies annoyed me throughout the whole movie. I literally couldn't enjoy the exprience and I mentally screamed out loud in frustration after I left the theater (I would have done it aloud, but I was in the middle of Cologne with lots of people around). Maybe I sound like an old, intolerant shrew, but I really enjoy movies most when there's just a handful of people in the room with me and there are no outside distractions. For me it's as simple as this: I pay money to see a movie, not to be entertained by the people watching the movie with me.

I wrote a pretty long rant about my experience too: http://www.chris-marquette.com/forum/vi … 395#p40395

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I still have no idea when I'm gonna see New Moon.  Me and my friend Dacota are trying to figure out when we can go, since we both work retail (and are in school full time) November's gonna be a tough month for us and my boss doesn't let anyone request off in November or December.  So we have no idea what date it's gonna be, so we can't pre-order tickets, but we're gonna go ASAP.

I agree with you, TJ. I really hate to see movies with tons of people! I am very claustrophobic.
I'm going to try to see New Moon on opening day before noon because all of the teenage girls will be in school.

I'll be finished with Angel and Netflixing Twilight this upcoming weekend.  When I see New Moon will depend on how I like that and if I can squeeze out the bucks.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I'm with TJ about the screaming fangirls. And I really don't like crowds at all.. I never go see feilms on their opening nights, but maybe two days later when the teenagers have got sick of it. I had fun watching Twilight almost alone the first time and totally alone the second time (spring) they were showing it thanks to "clients' demand". big_smile

I don't think New moon has much to surprise me with. WithTwilight I had the same problem. I had seen too many clips before the movie. when I first saw it I was disappointed how different it was from the books and how I had already seen the best parts in advance. But once I got myself convinsed that the movies are a totally different story than the books, I was ok with it.

I finally saw the first movie last weekend.  Loved it!  I look forward to New Moon, but I'll probably wait until the DVD release.  I don't like to fight crowds.  I hope there is more of the Cullens than I'm afraid there will be.

Re: Twilight (contains spoilers for all books and the movies)

I can already tell I'm gonna hate this. I'm pretty sure my favorite theater in Düsseldorf won't show the movie in OV, so I'm stuck with the Cologne theater again. They're most likely only gonna have two shows a day. One will be too early to go after work and one will be too late to go during the week. So I'm stuck with the weekends again. I really wanna see this movie right away, but I don't wanna have a repeat performance of last year. So what am I gonna do????

I mean, yeah, it's a terrible problem to have, I know. I should consider myself lucky that I get to see it in OV at all. It still kinda sucks that my favorite theater stopped being interested in showing OV movies in a way where normal working citizens are able to go see them.

The only thing I can offer you is to come down one weekend and see it with me in my theatre. They have quite good showtimes, even for working people. That way I managed to catch Twilight on Half Prize Day. But for New Moon, I want to catch the double feature, which is going to be shown on Nov 22th. I can't wait to order my tickets, but they're still not offering it ... sad

Just finished watching the movie finally, for the first time.  I liked it.  I understand what the fuss is about.  And I look forward to seeing New Moon.

Based only on the movie, it's kinda hard to pick one.  Who's yours, Mel?
