These are not necessarily movies released in 2007, but I saw them in 2007...
The Brave One
Alpha Dog
Lars And The Real Girl
Stephanie Daley
Hustle And Flow
The 40 Year Old Virgin
Hard Candy
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Little Miss Sunshine
The Lookout
There are more, but these are the main ones that come to mind. All of these hold up to repeat viewing. I may blog about them on MySpace. But for now, I just wanted to mention them in case anyone's looking for good movies and may not have considered these titles...
Everyone on please share you own list!

I think I missed most of the movies I wanted to see this year.
But yeah, I've also seen Alpha Dog, Little Miss Sunshine, and, of course, Stephanie Daley. Oh, and A Scanner Darkly, but I can't decide yet whether it's a great or a dumb movie. LOL

I haven't seen Juno yet because it's not in theaters in my area yet, but my friend in New York saw it and she loved it so I'm pretty sure I will too.
Movies I've actually seen, Donnie Darko (I'm behind), Little Miss Sunshine, Stephanie Daley, Freedom Writers, In The Land of Women, The Graduate (ok, I'm waaaaay behind) and my odd one out: Disturbia.

I'm anxious to see Juno too. Ellen Page is just brilliant. That word is over-used, but if you see Hard Candy, you'll agree.

Juno rocked my world and then some. LOVED it! I saw it twice in two days and am planning to see it a couple more times when I'm down in Arizona for a few weeks. Ellen just owns that role. I saw Hard Candy in theaters back in 2005...I think...and her versatility just astounds me. She's awesome.

I just found out that Juno is going to be playing in Georgia where I live. It won't start until a few weeks though. Don't know why its starting later but its still going to be in theaters!! ;D

Yeah, it started at different times in different places since it's an indie. I just happened to be in New York City when it opened, it took another week or so for it to release in Boston.

Dave and I are off to see Sweeney Todd in about an hour. I definitely wanna go see Juno. But I promised Dave we'd see ST this week. I also wanna see Charlie Wilson's War and the new National Treasure movie.

How was Sweeney Todd, Deb??

I saw Just Like Heaven too! How could I forget about that? LOL

Sweeney Todd was pretty awesome, Mel. It's very bloody, but the blood was made to look a bit too red so it seems fake. Just like in Tim Burton's other bloody opus, Sleepy Hollow. That makes it a bit easier to take. I'd say you'd better at least like, if not love musicals though. And it is Sondheim, so it's not what you might call a "pop" musical. I absolutely loved it. So cool to finally get to hear Johnny sing.

That's cool Deb. It looks dark and freaky!! I can't wait to see it!
To Illinoisguy1: You wouldn't classify the movies Alpha Dog, The Girl Next Door, and Just Friends as being great movies?? Chris is in them!! Those movies are my top 3 favorites of all time. I don't care what anyone else thinks, to me they're awesome!!

For what they are, I'd say AD & GND are great among a lot of trash. Just Friends is definitely good.

I totally get what you mean Illinoisguy. I hope you get that I was just saying I think they're the 3 best movies. I have nothing against your opinion. We have a different movie taste and thats all. There's no wrong or right opinion with liking or not liking different movies. : ]

You know, honestly? Among the movies Chris was in (that I've seen so far), I really think Alpha Dog was the best one. The Tic Code comes in close second. All the other movies he's been in I wouldn't consider outstanding. Actually, I wouldn't consider any of his movies outstanding. Which is not at all saying that Chris isn't a fantastic actor. I'm talking about the movie as a whole--and of course this is just my opinion.
And I really really really hope that very soon Chris is gonna be in movie that will completely blow me away in its entirety. For a long time I thought Fanboys would be a good candidate, now I'm not so sure anymore. There was something else on the horizon for a while, but that fell through too. So here's to hoping 2008 will be Chris's big year!

I agree with Illinoisguy on Just Friends. It's not a "great" movie but it's fun to watch it once in a while. Same with GND. (although that's a classic. LOL)
And oops, that reminds me of something. I still have not seen The Invisible. I guess I'll have to do that next year. It also doesn't seem to be a "great" movie, but I am still going to see it. And I agree with Tina, Alpha Dog was the best Chris movie I've seen this year. Except The Tic Code, but I've seen this movie last year already. Or even the year before last year.

Just got back from seeing Juno and it's definitely going on the list of great movies I saw this year. It's absolutely wonderful. So funny and such great performances. Is there anyone working today who's as smart, funny and appealing as Ellen Page? What I wouldn't give to see her do something with Chris...

When you get around to seeing The Invisiible, tell me if you like it, Anne.
That's really cool Deb. Juno seems like a really great movie!! I can't wait till I see it.

Add Charlie Wilson's War to the list of great movies I saw this year. It's about a very serious subject, but it's wildly entertaining. If you love grown-up movies about amazing people, go see it.
PS: For you Roswell fans, Shiri Appleby is in the movie. Her character is Charlie's press secretary. She's called only Jailbait.
