Ellen Page and Michael Cera, what more could you ask for? She's a doll; he's such a pie. Mmm. I dreamt of him last night. You'd think I'd dream of Chris after going post(ing) crazy and pictures crazy.
Joan: "Wow. I always thought you'd hate me if I was a cheerleader."
Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

I'm sure you had a better dream than me. I dreamed I was attacked in my bed by an intruder and barely managed to get my gun and chase him off. Then he started stalking me over the phone and Internet and telling me was gonna do horrible things to me. So I became obsessed with getting a bigger, scarier gun. And for some reason, I refused to call the cops. Weird, huh?

That's a crazy dream indeed, Deb. Were you watching a horror movie or something? It sounds like that one movie where that girl gets a call from inside her house.. yeah, that was specific enough.. Maybe you thought you could handle him, which was why you refused to call the cops, OR MAYBE!! You thought you were guilty about something- like in "Hard Candy" when Jeff didn't call the cops when he had the chance. Unless you know why..
I like reading people's dreams, hah.
And no Melody, I have not. My sister and I were supposed to watch it together when it came out nationwide on Christmas, but she got into an accident and her left arm is in a cast right now. I was going to wait until she gets better because she doesn't want to be seen with that thing on, haha. Either way, I'm probably going to watch it without her; I'm too impatient.

i saw a lot of movies this year, but i am not sure which ones where actually made this year . does it matter???
but really great , i don't know:/ so i will tell a little about the movies i remember i saw this year.
i really thought " alpha dog " was a very good movie.
i saw " butterfly on a wheel" a few days ago. it is a decent thriller. i mean at least the ending did not make me shoot myself as most thriller do.
i was so sorry after i saw " fracture ". ryan gosling and anthony hopkins are great actors but the ending of this movie really insulted the viewers intelligence.
classics i saw this year: i only managed this year to see " breakfast at tiffany" - magical classic!!! and also a classic i saw this year - " after dark ". i think i was behind on the classics. i also saw " the way we were " - so wonderful!!! also " american graffitti" - cliques but at least it was the one that started the trend, i liked it. also this year " a clockwork orange " - great!!!
harry potter - good !!!! well, it's harry!!!:D
jane austen book club - could have been good but it wasn't
it's a boy girls thing - funny but cliques ( did i got this word ok? )\
the lookout - one part of the movie i loved, one part i disliked
i think i saw " mysterious skin" this year. if so, then i guess then this one gos to great movies category for me!!!
american gangster - soooo hollywood. didn't like it.
eastern promises - didn't like it either.
in the land of women - had potential but did not delivered
300 - bleah
ocean13 - why keep up doing this???
zodiac- got me sleepy
the illusionist - nice
rattatouille - loved it
3:10 to yuma - good thing ben foster and christian bale were in it!

I'm not sure where that dream came from. I don't think I was watching a horror movie. And I don't think I'm guilty of anything. Hmmm. I do have a plywood board in my bathroom window right now because my landlord is in the process of upgrades on my house, including new windows. And my friend Dave told me a guy up the street had his work truck broken into a few weeks ago. Maybe it's just the combo of generalized anxiety and a wild imagination.

Hahaha, yeah, maybe that's it, Deb. I stretch interpretations too far sometimes.
Irina, which Zodiac are you talking about? The one with Jake Gyllenhaal or the older one with Justin Chambers?

Yeah, I think so. The one with Justin Chambers was ehhhh (I didn't even get to finish it), but the one with Jake was soo good!

Yeah, I thought the same, Soph. I saw them both. The Justin Chambers one was a Canadian TV movie --- the very definition of "eh", with apologies to my friends in the Great White North.

DEB!! It's playing When A Stranger Calls today on erm.. Cinemax? I've never seen it, but that was the movie I was thinking about in regards to your dream. And thanks for that little fact; I did not know it was a Canadian TV movie. It was playing a lot on Starz or so.

I've seen the original When A Stranger Calls, but not the remake. They played Zodiac on cable a ton when The Zodiac came to the theater. I guess now that there's a director's cut of the latter coming out on DVD, the former is back.

Here's another one I forgot about, Children Of Men. I was kind of interested in the premise, but I really decided to see it on Chris's recommendation. I wanted to in Orlando when I was down there to interview him back in January, on Sunday when I had an afternoon to kill. But there was no screening that fit in with my flight back home so I ended up seeing Pan's Labyrinth instead, also on his recommendation. That one I wasn't terribly thrilled with. The first half hour literally put me to sleep. I dozed off several times and that never happens to me. It got better, but I was far from blown away.
The same could not be said for Children Of Men. It is never boring. It's endlessly fascinating because it's a world of it's own, but very familiar --- like our own, but slightly perverted. It's set in the not so distant future and it's an incredibly bleak one. The movie is fast-paced and it expects you to keep up. If you do, the rewards are great. If not, this one will leave your ass in the dust. And Clive Owen? Hot.
