Someone on IMDb said they read there were drugs all over the room, so it might have been a drug overdose. I don't know though, he never came off as the druggie type.

Heath Ledger found dead in NYC building
Associated PressJan 23, 2008
NEW YORK -- Heath Ledger was found dead Tuesday at a downtown Manhattan residence in a possible drug-related death, police said. He was 28.NYPD spokesman Paul Browne said Ledger had an appointment for a massage at the Manhattan apartment believed to be his home. The housekeeper who went to let Ledger know the masseuse was there found him dead at 3:26 p.m.
The Australian-born actor was an Oscar nominee for his role in "Brokeback Mountain" and has numerous other screen credits.
Got that off hollywoodreporter.com. I didn't know he had drug problems. Man, it's so sad to see all these promising young actors succumb to something as stupid and deathly as drugs. But I guess that's easy for me to say. Fame can really get to you, once you're that kind of famous.

CNN just said that pills were found in the room as well. Of course they pointed out that it may not be the cause.

Someone on wikipedia entered this:
At 3:31 p.m., a masseuse arrived at Apartment 5A of 421 Broome Street in SoHo for an appointment with Ledger, the police said. The masseuse was let in to the home by a housekeeper, who then knocked on the door of Ledger's bedroom. When no one answered, the housekeeper and the masseuse opened the bedroom and found Ledger unresponsive. They shook him, but he did not respond. They immediately called the authorities. The police said they did not suspect foul play and said they found pills near his body.
Bloody tragedy, this is!

Me and my friend are trying to find out reasons for the pills. He played Joker in the new Batman movie, and his sleep schedule got screwed up. So he might have been taking sleeping pills. Those could have had a negative reaction to any other medications he was taking, even vitamins.
I'm really grasping at straws, but I'm not gonna just accept that he was another Hollywood druggie when we have no proof.

Guess they might be doing an autopsy. Then we'll probably know. If they release the info.

According to the New York City Police Department, Ledger was found dead in an apartment owned by actress Mary-Kate Olsen in the SoHo neighborhood of Manhattan on January 22, 2008
This just really isn't making sense to me. At all.

Well, anyone can enter info on wiki. And I guess right now the info up there will change by the minute. The news is spreading like wildfire.

Yeah, I heard that too. It's not making much sense to me either.
I really feel awful for Michelle Williams and his little girl Matilda right now. Ugh.

The Mary-Kate thing has four news sources on Wikipedia right now, seems true.

Yeah, we heard someone mention it on TV. So strange.

And now it says he was found naked
Mary-Kate isn't in New York right now, she's in California.

So sad! I feel so bad for his family, especially that poor little girl.

Yeah, Mary-Kate is at Sundance right now. I wonder why he was at her apartment...

He was probably renting it from her or something

On Huffington Post last week, it said they were dating. Not that unusual that she'd let him stay there while she was out of town. He probably didn't have a place there.

I thought he was dating Gemma Ward? I don't really stay current with celebrity gossip, but it was all over the magazines in the grocery stores at one point.
