You know, I think in the next e-mail to Chris (if there's room), I'd like to send him a comment or two about TI. I really wish we could get our hands on a version of the original script, but that's not bleedin' likely.

What could you possibly say to him that's not gonna make him feel worse about the movie?

My honest opinion? That the movie could have turned out better if they hadn't chopped it up the way they did but that he still did a great job. He's an artist who doesn't only perform for the sake of performing but also to perform for an audience. I'd like to think that he'd like to hear feedback, even if the movie didn't blow me away. That's the experience I made with Martin Lindow when I met with him. He always enjoyed the feedback, even actively asked me for my opinion.
Is this another American thing, where I shouldn't be telling people my opinion when it's not a 100% positive?

No, it's not that. I just wonder if going out of your way to tell him a bunch of stuff about this movie that he has more or less disowned might be counterproductive for our purposes. Not that you can't say you didn't particularly like it. I think that's pretty much what he expects, considering his little protest on premiere night. If you were to include something not terribly-long-winded in our next email to him, I think that would be fine. But you made it sound like you wrote multiple pages about it and you wanted to send it to him specifically. That's what I'm not sure is a good idea.
Look at it this way, he's absolutely powerless to do anything about what went wrong with that movie. Maybe he'd rather just forget about it and concentrate on other things.

Hey, I saw The Invisible about a month ago and I have to say that it was the greatest movie I have ever seen and one of Chris's best performences. (Another great performence would be The Tic Code!) It was very good. Can't wait until it comes out on DVD.

Welcome aboard, Lizzy. I hope you won't be offended that we're mostly kinda disappointed in The Invisible. Of course we love what we get to see of Chris in the movie, but we're pretty annoyed that a bunch of stuff got cut and mangled. It would've been a better movie if all of Chris's scenes were still in it. We hope we'll get to see the deleted scenes on the DVD.
And for the record, we're not totally UN-associated with Chris either. He does not visit the message board, so he probably won't see your signature. But we do have occasional contact with him. So we might be able to pass along a brief message to him for you somewhere down the road. And if you stick around till we do another interview with him, you can ask him a question too.
Very cool of you to choose the pic you chose as an avatar. The whole pic is Chris and TeeJay and I. It's in the gallery in the Revenge Of The Nerds album if you've never seen it.
Have you answered our Chris questionnaire yet? It's in the introduction thread.
Hope you enjoy all the goodies on the site. Tons of pics and clips. And lots of news on the boards.

Just stay tuned to the MB for news about any upcoming events or interviews. We've got our fingers crossed that something might be happening Labor Day weekend. In the meantime, there's a thread for any questions you want to ask him. You can post them there and we'll add them to the list.

It's definitely worth seeing when you love Chris. I want to buy the DVD too when it comes out, mainly so I can finally see the movie in good quality and make us some screen- and vidcaps. I personally think it's not the best movie ever, but it's surely entertaining enough. I just think it would have made a much better movie if they had just cut it differently (and not cut out all of Chris's best stuff).

You have to look really close to see it. He also said later that it kinda sucked that they cut it because he got bruised up really badly with the barrel poking him in the chest. He really took a pounding both physically and emotionally on this movie.

I don't quite remember where I found this, but I saved it a while ago to post it here. Might have been on amazon.com, I'm not sure. It's a review from someone who felt similar to me after seeing the movie:
Margarita Levieva saves this from being a waste of time, 29 April 2007
Author: spydamang from United States
The Invisible is a movie that is extremely different from most movies in that the main character, after his death, remains on screen and intermingles with the rest of the cast. For director David S. Goyer, that proves to be an extremely difficult task that he fails to manage because of gaping plot holes in the script that really bring the film down. Despite a good storyline, the one thing that really shines in the film is actress Margarita Levieva.
Nick Powell (Justin Chatwin; "War of the Worlds") is a smart 18 year old about to graduate from high school, a wonderful future ahead of him. His best friend, Pete (Chris Marquette; "The Girl Next Door"), has gotten into some trouble with Annie Newton (Levieva; TV's "Vanished"), a girl who sells cell phones, but terrorizes anyone who crosses her path or doesn't pay up. Nick rushes to Pete's aid in a calm manner, which eventually results in Nick being murdered through a series of events. After his murder, Nick soon realizes a disturbing truth. No one can see, touch, or hear him. Anything he does to change a part of the world corrects itself in seconds. He isn't alive. But he isn't dead, either. Stranded in limbo, Nick must guide those involved in his life and death to help save him from death, which will happen if he does not act fast enough.
The acting is really difficult to judge, as I've never seen a movie like this. Justin Chatwin has his moments, but I don't get the feeling that he's going to be a leading man someday. He doesn't carry the film that well, because while I watched the movie, I really didn't care what became of Nick when the end came around. Chris Marquette flexes his dramatic muscles after some hilarious ventures in comedy, and I'm impressed. Unfortunately, his character suffers the biggest plot hole of all, and it's not his fault at all. He delivers in this film, and now I know he's capable of more than making my laugh my head off. Margarita Levieva is the real shining star of the film, because her character, despite being horribly flawed as a person, becomes extremely likable by the end of the film. Her performance is wonderful, and she's helped by the fact that she's the only character that's well written. Levieva makes the audience hate her in the beginning, but she transforms so much into a character that you'll like so much. Easily one of the best female performances this year. Marcia Gay Harden adds a little touch as Nick's mother, but there are times where her character seems a little spaced out and isn't in touch with reality (and it's not supposed to be like she can hear her son, because, as you'll see, the characters have a difficult relationship).
The writing is just an insult to the actors and the director, because it has one huge plot hole: Nick is murdered in front of his best friend. The murderers do not force him to come with them after they kill Nick. Why on earth did he not go to the police, knowing where Nick's body was and exactly who the murderers were? If that happened to my best friend, I know I would have gone to the police in a heartbeat. It is such a big hole that the writers either forgot about or just ignored so they could write the movie. It definitely takes away a lot of the reality, which is important because, while this is a fantasy movie, it's very important to keep as much reality as you can in this movie in particular, so the audience can have the most moving experience possible. It's supposed to bend the line between fantasy and reality, as well as life and death. And the writers fail horribly. The film has some violent moments, including Nick's brutal murder, and the language isn't that common. For this, anyone under 13 or 14 should stay away, as it is very hard to understand at times. The Invisible was an okay movie, mostly because Margarita Levieva was phenomenal and upstaged the star of the movie (Chatwin) and an Oscar winner (Marcia Gay Harden).

I think he kinda missed the point that Pete didn't go to the police because he PARTICIPATED. He lead those punks to Nick, he lied that Nick was the one to rat Annie out and and he helped dump the body in the well. He figured if he went to the police he'd be charged too.

9.5 US shoe size converts to 43 European size, for the non-Americans among us. I don't think you can even get Vans over here. I'm not a shoe fetishist, my taste in shoes is very not hip. When I look at the shoes that the teenage girls nowadays wear, my feet automatically start to hurt. I can't walk in heels, so all my shoes are very flat and casual. Of course at work I have to wear leather shoes that look dressy enough, but when I don't work, it's usually something sneaker-like and comfy for me.

You'll laugh, I once converted 9.5 to European size. It was when they sold some other pair of his shoes on ebay. I guess it was from Alpha Dog or something. LOL But thanks for posting it anyway.

I found more TI interviews online. I'm not sure if we've seen this one already, but I can't watch it with sound here at work right now, so maybe it's something new:
http://video.aol.com/video-detail/id/288036896
This one I've definitely not seen because there's a Chris scene from the movie in it that was cut in the theatrical version (the scene where Pete is sitting at the table, being interviewed by the police):
