Sorry, while I like the general idea of the film I can't see any reason to pay $20+ on the DVD, so I'll wait till it gets really cheap before I buy it.

Probably your best bet, Illinois.

How quickly they drop the prices on DVDs these days, it'll probably be about 6 months or so when it'll be at $10.

That would be nice. LOL

You can apparently watch some of the deleted scenes on the TI MySpace site:

I'm gonna wait for the DVD because I'd rather see them in good quality, but there's at least one scene with Chris on the MySpace site, the one where he's being interrogated by the police.
There's also an official DVD website: http://video.movies.go.com/theinvisible/main.html
They have a little icon with Chris:
And some of the stills we already know. I just wish they'd release the last one as a big, high-res version!

it seems like on the DVD that half of the deleted scenes have Chris in them

Well, Anne, hold on. I asked Ralf if he could get me the German version as "Rezensionsexemplar" for free. He said he'd try. I'll let you know.

Okay. I finally saw the movie the day before yesterday.
Well, from what I did know about it before, I didn't put my hopes up very high, so at least I wasn't that disappointed at the end. In fact, I didn't like it at all. I mean, besides Chris's acting of course. and maybe Justin Chatwin's acting too, but I definitely did not like the movie itself. I think the people who made the movie could have done a lot better.

I wish they would had left it the way it was instead of edit.. edit and oh yah more EDIT

Yeah, I didn't really like the movie either. It had potential though. I must say that I didn't like Pete ;/ There were so many "could haves" and "shouldn't haves" regarding this movie. Of course I tried to ignore it and enjoy the movie, but .. didn't work.
On the other hand, most of the actors did a really great job.
Joan: "Wow. I always thought you'd hate me if I was a cheerleader."
Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

And I always keep saying that Chris's best work is in the deleted scenes. We know he didn't like the way the movie was edited. After seeing the deleted scenes on the DVD, I felt a little vindicated for him. He did a great job as an actor on that one.

That was the reason I watched his deleted scenes at first. I kind of hoped that it would make the movie look better to me, but that didn't really work. In the end I wished there were more deleted scenes with him. I wanted to see all of his great work. Although I didn't "like" Pete either, but the way he was playing him was absolutely briliant.

Oh, I agree! He was great in the deleted scenes (I saw the clips on here, thanks by the way!) and overall. I actually thought he outshone Chatwin, or maybe I'm just biased.

Chatwin was a bit stagey. He yelled too much and overplayed a lot of stuff. Chris was Chris, appropriately tortured and intense. I think if they'd just let him die like he's supposed to, the movie would've been so much more powerful. And I would've been able to forgive its other flaws.

I love Chris in The Invisible! He should have been in it more though and the scenes that weren't shown with him, would have made the movie a lot better if they were used.

Watched the invisible last night. No way that would be worth my forking out $4.50 if Chris wasn't in it. Though there is seriously no good movies out at the dvd shop at the moment, I spent like fifteen minutes walking up and down the new release section just trying to find another dvd to get out so I could use my two for one coupon.
Anyway, that's slightly beside the movie. I watched it with my sister, she was less than impressed (apart from with Chris) as was I. It seemed to drag, like the scenes went on for longer than they needed to, and we actually ended up fast forwarding some (chrisless) parts.
I didn't really like justin chatwin, and my sister thought he looked like a young tom cruise, which is not complimentary. And maybe it was just me, but I kinda felt like the movie had no point?

^No, I felt similarly. Usually I tend to get something out of movies, even if it was unintended, but with this movie, I got nothing- except that Chris Marquette is one phenomenal actor. But I think that was a given

You know, I had to supress the urge to do that. LOL I said to myself: You need to watch the entire movie only once, after that you can always skip the chrisless parts. Kinda like with Freddie vs. Jason too.

Ok, so... I probably shouldn't respond when I'm sick and had no sleep last night, but I really gotta say this. Chris being in it doesn't make the movie amazing. No one is that good of an actor. One of the best ever? Ok, your opinion, that's fine... but I wish Chris was around when they made Casablanca, it could have been even better!!!

Oh, another thing was the constant music in the movie. It felt like it was more about the soundtrack than the movie, like it's purpose was to have "cool" music and screw the actual movie part.
And I did want to watch the movie through without fastforwarding, but due to the excessively long time the scenes took, I don't think I actually missed anything. I didn't fast forward that much, if I ever watch it again, I'll be fastforwarding way more. But given the fact that Chris doesn't have any short supply of movies on the go, I don't think it'll be neccesary to rewatch that one.
