It's hard to say for 2010, cause any of those dates could change. To be honest, i wouldn't be surprised if Austin Powers 4 and Mission Impossible 4 was released later.
But looking at 2009, i'm most looking foward to Star Trek (even though i've never really been a fan of it ), Terminator: Salvation and Transformers: Rise of the Fallen. There are others i would like to see, but those three are the ones i'm most excited about.

Why looky there, not one single ORIGINAL story in the whole bunch. Everything is a sequel, prequel, remake or adaptation. Shocking. Not. Stupid Hollywood.

I know exactly what you mean. As someone who wants to get into the business, it's so sad to see so very few original ideas.

Kinda why I've given up the idea of being a screenwriter, after working at it for almost half my life. No one wants to hear from fresh voices anymore.

The list is from well over 5,000 titles for both years.
These are the ones I knew from name alone. Very likely there are many more that I would be interested in, but simply can't recognize them by their title only.
So of course I would pick those that are sequels, remakes and not original ideas since I wouldn't even know what they are about by the title alone.
Just wanted to point that out.

Oh, thank God! I was really worried that it really had fallen to that level where there was nothing original on the horizon. I do stick by my challenge on the RTWM board at IMDb though... can anyone name the last major SCI-FI movie that was not a sequel, prequel, remake or comic book (or toy) adaptation?

While I don't know much about it, what about Sunshine (2007).
According to IMDB there is only one person credited with writing it.

I don't know if this is gonna come out at all, let alone in 2009 or 10 but the creator of Veronica Mars greenlit Veronica Mars: The Movie. The only movie I'm really looking forward to that's coming out this year is New Moon.
Offline
For me I guess the new Harry Potter, Star Trek and Witch Mountain. New Moon too, of course. Maybe also The Reader and definitely X-Men Origins. I'm sure there's a lot of other movies I'm gonna watch this year, but I'll pick these as the year goes along, depending on what will play when and if it's gonna play in OV.

I've got a RTWM friend who's bugging me to join his thread about the top 10 movies I'm looking forward to for 2009, but honestly, I haven't seen much of anything I'm interested in yet. Sad, huh?

Gonna go see Knowing this afternoon. Looks great and I read a really excellent review of it by a regular person on AICN that really piqued my interest. Except for Nic Cage, it's got no one in it. He'd better be good and the story better live up to its promise.

I loved the Wolverine movie and I am looking forward to seeing the second Night at the museum movie soon.
Oh, and I've seen Witch mountain by now. It was fun to watch, but somehow I expected a little more. Or maybe I'm too old for that stuff now.

I don't know what to make of 2012. Kinda looks like just another Roland-Emerich-destroys-the-world movie. Good cast though. Let's just say I'm curious, but not yet sold.
Here's the one I'm most looking forward to right now. Big Nick's new one. And what a great cast! Can't wait till this weekend...

I'm not into sappy sad movies like My Sister's Keeper. It just looks so depressing to me.
But that's just me. Perhaps others like that kind of movie.
I'm sure it's a good movie, it's just not my type of movie.
