Although some things deserve to be on them lists, e.x. Disaster Movie, Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer, some of them films look like they were added as an excuse just to bash them. Indiana Jones, Rambo and The X Files and even Star Wars i really enjoyed and i believe were all in the spirit of the originals, yet still nominated for worst sequel.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

As a huge X Files fan from the first airing of the pilot, I must say that I was largely disappointed in the recent movie.  But no, I don't think it's Razzie level bad.  I wouldn't see another Rambo movie movie if you paid me.  And they destroyed Indy 4 for me with the casting, which is a damn crying shame because I loved the first and third one and I was happy to see Karen Allen come back.   But there's another movie I'll never, ever see and I'd be tickled if it got a special Razzie for terrible casting.

And there's a profoundly terrible omission from the list, Supercrapfest Movie.  I would've LOVED to see that thing thoroughly trashed.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

I agree with you Simon regarding that some of those nominated don't really deserve to be on that list and it's done to just bash them.

I also believe they nominate flops or disappointing sequels/remakes because it's likely people have heard of them and it's a way to get publicity. Whereas if they only really nominated the really terrible films that nobody ever even heard of then where's the free publicity in that.

This way they can say such and such blockbuster is the worst of the year or pick a well known actor/actress as the worst instead of someone you've never heard of in your life.

If i was picking the worst film it would easily be The Hottie & The Nottie. Just by the ads I could tell how bad it was. And Paris Hilton for worst actress.  Larry the Cable Guy as worst actor.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

That isn't a list of nominees.  It may be what is on the nominating ballot.  But the nominees won't be anounced until Jan. 21.  and there will be around 5 nominees per category.

But it is true that they have nominated things before just to bash them, even if they aren't neccessarily the worst.

Looking at the real nominations, they don't seem that bad.

Re: The 29th Annual Razzie Award Nominations

I pretty much agree with those picks Illinoisguy1, with one exception, Disaster Movie should win Worst Prequel, Sequel, Remake Or Rip-Off.

I didn't do too bad in my predictions, well if you combine My Picks & Predicted Wins.

Picture - Go wrong on both accounts. Somehow I didn't include Love Guru.

Actor: I Predicted Myers would win, and that's who won.

Actress: My Pick was Paris Hilton, and that's who won.

Supporting Actor: Got wrong on both accounts, Brosnan won.

Supporting Actress: My pick was Paris Hilton again, and that's who won.

Screen Couple: My pick was for Paris Hilton and either Christine Lakin or Jorel David Moore, and that's who won.

Worst Prequel, Sequel, Remake Or Rip-Off: My Predicted Win was for Jones, and that's who won.

Director: My Pick was for Boll, and that's who won.

Screenplay: My Predicted Win was for Love Guru, and that's what won.
