Dreams... snakes

Ok, So I can't be the only one out there who has crazy insane dreams. I can't remember all the details but i'll try my best.

My most recent ones- had the killer girl from the Orphan and the plot of the Knowing. WTH right ! I just remember us running around this house hiding from these guys, we hid in the bathroom, very strange! There was also this guy there, I think our brother, Idn Gah I have weird dreams and I have numerous ones! Ok so my next dream was a/b my greatest fear, snakes( I have a dream a/b snakes prolly 5 out of 7 nights, thats ridiculous right?) I was outside and there were millions of them..ew:puke:... I went inside and one was on my sock, it was a baby, so I pulled it off and it bit me! The end lol

Another one (with snakes, who woulda thought haha:o) was my mom and me in this old house trying to cover up all holes and any openings so the snakes couldn't get in. Well the door cracked and they started piling in so we ran outside and my dad had the truck with a trailer connected and we jumped on that and drove off.

Can anyone interpret these? Why Oh Why do I dream a/b snakes??? I swear it's either snakes, sharks, or crocodiles. I would rather dream about sharks anyday, b/c no way would I ever swim in the ocean, however I can step outside and get bit by a snake, which literally terrifies me!:crying:

Re: Dreams... snakes

You feel overwhelmed by things in your life that scare you on a most basic level?  That's what it sounds like.  But only you know what those things are.  Whatever they are, they've been rearing their ugly heads in your life lately.  But most likely they're busting out in your dreams because you're suppressing them in your regular life.  Happens to me too.  Most of my dreams lately are about things falling apart, or into terrible disrepair, or me being forced to relocate to a very bad situation, or losing things.  I guess my deepest fear is of the way things are going with the economy and watching my boss panic almost daily about it.  Waiting for the other shoe to drop is no way to live, I struggle with that.  I think it sabotages me sometimes.

Re: Dreams... snakes

Thank you, But see I don't think I'm supressing anything, I just think I'm so afraid of getting bit by a snake
(as dumb as that sounds). At my house they are everywhere, they may not be venomous but they still freak me out.

Thats true though about the economy, I've been lucky throughout my life where I haven't had to worry a/b finances or anything to a certain degree, that's changing this fall, I'm moving out and getting my own apartment, I'm excited and nervous at the same time and I'll finally see the world for what it really is.

Re: Dreams... snakes

Heh.  Yeah, I'm no prognosticator.  But maybe you fear those people out there in the real world.  Snakes in the grass.  Or maybe it's literal, like you said.  I'm just riffin'.

Last night I dreamed of cruising around with Guy Fieri, but he was incognito --- not wanting to sample food --- until we passed a place called The Gator Shack and he just reeeeeeally wanted to sample to the fried alligator tail.  LOL!   But then we discovered that we were carrying empty suitcases in the trunk because we left the last town so fast we never got our suitcases packed.   Ruh-roh.  We panicked and I woke up.  I love whackadoodle dreams like that.

Taylor, if you are scared of snakes then dont go to the outback of Australia. I think we have like 8 out of the top 10 most deadly snakes or something like that. Even i am very careful camping. But i actually dont mind snakes that much. I actually think they are kinda cool. The pet ones though, in the wild its a little different!

Re: Dreams... snakes

Ha! If you ever do get round to visiting let me know smile I am right down on the south east coast. And as far as snakes go its fairly easy. Snakes arent usually aggressive unless they are hungry or you appear to attack them in someway. So its just a matter of watching where you step while out in the bush and make sure if you are camping to zip everything up completely. No stepping in shoes without checking first! But you wont see any snakes in the city. Hahah yeah our animals here can be very very scary. So many poisonous things. I think its like the most poisonous snakes, spider, jelly fish, octopus....but meh, i have lived here all my life without issue.

And NOOOOOO you have to swim in the ocean. Just gotta know where to go. But seriously there is nothing better. I have lived all my life about 5 mins drive from the beach and used to go to highschool where the beach was so close we would walk there for Phys Ed class. I LOVE the beach. The ocean is so amazing. Growing up where i have i find it hard to believe that some people have never seen the ocean. We had an exchange student stay with my family a few years back from Japan and when we took her to the beach she just cried. I can not promote the beach enough. I have been swimming in the wild with dolphins and seals before and i swear its an experience you will never forget.

Re: Dreams... snakes

smile I will, if i do it won't be for several years, but it's definitely high up on my list of places to go. Wow Warbee, How many snakes have you come close to, if you don't mind me asking? Oo the shoes thing!!!! I'm retarded and didn't fully check mine and sure enough there was a scorpion in my shoe! I was soo lucky tho, we drove 30 miles to town, I got out and then I felt it, freaked out threw my shoe and sock off, went inside crying, then my brother also freaked out b/c it was on my shoulder!!!!! Worst experience of my life but not as traumatizing as my snake encounters.

I've swam in the ocean and I couldnt stand it, it burned my eyes and felt so nasty IMO, but back then I wasn't nearly as scared of sharks as I am now. Like you're so defenseless out there in the water, I don't like that feeling one bit. However, swimming with the dolphins I would do in a heartbeat, I love dolphins, and I learned that sharks don't bother them right?

Re: Dreams... snakes

Melody, I've encountered 5 this summer, all have been non venomous.. I think, it's hard to tell when they are babies..which is even scarier. I think maybe that's why I dream about them, plus the combination of what Deb said.

Re: Dreams... snakes

Dolphins won't put up with sharks bullying them, they just stab then in the gut with their noses and the sharks run away crying like babies, or go belly-up if the dolphin hits them hard enough.

I once went snorkeling at Poipu Beach on Kauai and it was great.  Wear a mask under water, only swim inside the breakers and have someone fish-spot for you.  Then you'll love swimming in the ocean.

Re: Dreams... snakes

Ha wow Rochelle...5 snakes this summer already??? Honestly i have only encountered about that many in my lifetime in the wild. But i have held about 6 or so pet snakes before. And in a year 10 science lab class we had this guy that reminded me of the nuttiness of Steve Irwin and he brought a sack of snakes that would have been about 20 or so. But the bit that freaked me out was that he had the brown snake (which is not always brown!) and the copperhead, and then proceeded to tell us that they hadnt had their fangs removed. One bite from these snakes would kill you VERY quickly. So i have been pretty lucky when it comes to snakes.

And dolphins are pretty tough, usually swim in packs too. But the seals are the most amazing. The dolphins tend to just swim past you and ignore you, but seals are so curious and they will swim right up to you to get a better look at you and WOW amazing. Yeah snorkeling is amazing. Visit the Great Barrier Reef, which is high up on the east coast of Australia. It is far too shallow to be worrying about sharks and you still get to have the greatest veiws.

Sharks dont worry me too much. I generally stay shallow enough that its not that much of a problem. Seen my fair share of stingrays though. Oh and jelly fish and ocotpus. Thankfully never a blue ringed octopus though. Now THOSE things scare me.

The salt water will hurt your eyes if you arent used to it. But masks help. Or else just playing around in the ocean where you can stand is still amazing! And im going to stop rambling now.

Re: Dreams... snakes

Umm.. why would a guy bring a sack of venomous snakes!!!!!????

I've read and seen stuff where it syas some sharks actually love shallow water, for example the aggressive huge bull shark! I think the tiger shark has had reportings of attacks in shallow water too. I do agree that it would be easier to see the attack coming and then having a better chance to get away.

Re: Dreams... snakes

That's why I say only swim inside the breakers.  They don't generally come in there.  big_smile

Poipu has two natural breakers...

Re: Dreams... snakes

Hehehe i have no idea why the guy brought a sack of venous snakes. But he seemed kinda proud to say that he had been bitten by them a few times and nearly died like 5 times but he got to hospital in time. This was one of the strangest people i had ever met. Not sure my school knew what they were getting into when they invited him into class. But you would have never seen 30 girls move so fast than when he lifted the sack upside down and dumped the snakes out. If it consoles you any i have lived here my entire life, gone to the beach without fail every year at least 10 times and have never seen a shark.

Ok well that is a lie i have seen a shark. But only cos my dad caught it while fishing. And it wasnt anything like Jaws. It was probably the size of my foot. So i dont think that counts. I dont even know of anyone that has come into contact with a shark. And my brother was insanely into surfing when he was younger and was out every other day, and i know a fair few lifeguards.

Okay, so I had this dream its not about snakes though.  tongue  Just couldn't didn't want to go searching for another thread.

I had a crazy and scary dream last night.  Its rare that I remember dreams, especially when I take my sleeping medicine.  So this one stuck out to me.  I dreamt that I was pregnant and even felt the baby kicking and everything .  Of course I was excited and everything, but for some reason the baby did not live and I of course was devastaded.  I especially remember feeling the baby's foot out of all things.  Really bizarre.  Anyone good at dream interpretation?

Sounds like a horrible dream! yikes
I once dreamt I was pregnant, too, but it wasn't a scary dream, it was more like an awfully embarrassing dream ... I once knew a guy, though, who had this book about dream interpretation and I think it said pregnancy means you are eager to start something new. Now I am not sure how accurate this book is, so I don't know what it means if the baby is in danger ... maybe that new thing you're about to start is in danger, too?
Oh God, this is starting to sound scary, I think I'll rather shut up now. sad

Quite Possibly.  I think it has more to do about communication really.  The scariest part was that I was too emberrassed to tell anyone about it, so when (in the dream) my parents found out the baby had died they were more upset that I hadn't told them about it.

Biggest ChrisMarquetteFan:  I know when you are walking in the woods its more about the journey, that you are searching for something.  Not sure what they context of the snakes would mean for you there.

Re: Dreams... snakes

I had several dreams last night about walking in cold, rainy and dark courtyards.  One courtyard was at a house, the other was in the old hotel I use to work at and then the third dream didn't take place in a courtyard but it was still outside in a big city that looked like New York.  It was still cold, rainy and dark there too.  Pretty creepy huh?
