Re: True Blood

OK, so I just realized we have a thread for True Blood! (Thanks Deb!)
I must say, I didn't care much about the show until I checked it out on German television last month (it was on free TV for the first time) since some of the actors are going to appear at RingCon this year and I am going there again.
I'm a huge Bill fan (Stephen Moyer is HOT!!!) and Bill/Sookie shipper. I don't care about the books and I hope they will reconcile sooner or later. And I've seen the latest promotion clip for season 4 today and now I am ALL PUMPED for the new season! I can' wait! It should have started, like, YESTERDAY!!! big_smile

Re: True Blood

Wow, pretty hot stuff there! LOL Although Godric isn't really my type. But I'm still looking forward to meeting Alan Hyde in October! It should be interesting. One day I was checking out Sam Trammell's imdb page and then I realized I knew him from Judging Amy! yikes

Seriously, I cannot believe I wasn't aware how GREAT this show is. I watched the entire show in one week after they finally brought it to free TV here. The German version sucked, as always, so I just went to the next DVD store and bought the DVDs before I was even finished watching. And that means something.

Re: True Blood

That's cool.  I would loved to have the DVDs.  But it's on TV a LOT here, so I can pretty much catch it whenever I need a fix.  I like all the guys, actually.  All for different reasons. I just think Godric's a really cool character and Alan Hyde is adorable.  I always fall for the side characters, remember?  wink

I bet he'd not much taller than you.  Take pics!  Get me an autograph if you can.  But only if it you don't have to pay for it, of course.  Maybe you can sneak a signature on a copy of the con program of something.

I really dig Alcide also.  And I think Jason is very pretty.

That was supposed to be a surprise for you! lol Well, I'll see what I can get. I will take a ton of pictures, of course, and I also plan to attend several photosessions.

Well, with that show I am pretty decided what characters I like. Hahaha. To me it's Bill ALL THE WAY!!! Seriously, you should have seen me watching Season 3 ... I ended up SCREAMING at my television, trying to stop Sookie from breaking up with him!
Alcide has too many muscles for my taste and Jason ... well, Jason is Jason, let's just say I like him for that. LOL

Re: True Blood

I honestly can't think of a regular TB character I don't like, at least in some way.  I love Beel & Sookeh together, of course.  I dig that soulmate thing.  But I also enjoy how playful she and Eric are with each other sometimes, now that she's not so afraid of him anymore.  It's gonna be fun watching him lose his memories, I bet.  I think most of the guys are attractive in some way as well.  In terms of character (not looks), I have a huge soft spot for Lafayette.  He's just so funny.  And I also adore Terry.  I like sweet boys, even when they're a bit weird and troubled.  tongue

Re: True Blood

Well, I tried liking Eric, but I just can't. LOL But Alexander Skarsgard is still doing a great job playing him. I can still make a difference between a character and the person who plays the character. But noone gets over Stephen Moyer here. I have no shame admitting that I totally have the hots for him. Hahaha. lol And yeah, I guess it's going to be so much fun to watch him not knowing who he is! big_smile He'll always be No. 1 here.

I love Lafayette, too! Did I mention Nelsan Ellis is also coming to RingCon? This is going to be the best RingCon ever! (At least for me. I know people who aren't happy about those people showing up. Oh well, I don't care ...)

And Terry, yeah. I think my WTF moment of the year was realizing Terry used to be Zack in the Gilmore Girls series. I had absolutely NO IDEA. yikes

Re: True Blood

Haven't seen a whole lot of Gilmore Girls, but I would love to get all the DVDs and watch it.  The actors in it are great.

Wow, I don't know if I could handle seeing Alan Hyde and Nelsan Ellis in the same place.  I wouldn't know who to watch. What's the whole TB guest roster?

Re: True Blood

Well, Sam, Nelsan and Alan are all scheduled to appear. But they would never let them do two panels of the same fandom at the same time, so I won't have to miss anybody. They would rather do panels together, that should be fun!
But there are other fandoms I don't want to miss and it could interfere with the photosession, but I'd always choose the photosessions rather than the panels. At panels you don't get to speak to the guest (well, through a microphone, but I hate that, I don't have a microphone voice), so I rather talk to them quickly at the autograph session or photosessions.
Rumor is, the guy who "invented" RingCon is a huge fan of the show and that's why there are so many TB people coming this year. But noone really big of course. But well, maybe that's good since I wouldn't trust myself if I went to a photosession with Stephen Moyer. I would totally faint the second I had to step in front of the camera. lol

Re: True Blood

For the past two years Blood Ties was a big thing for RingCon, too, but to me it was so boring and the actors who showed up totally didn't do it for me. I mean, look at Kyle Schmid - in face he could be standing naked in front of me and absolutely NOTHING would happen. Hahaha lol
Did I mention I can't wait for October? big_smile

Re: True Blood

I'm late on this trend. I just got the books to read this summer.  I don't know if I'll catch the series. I hear its pretty vulgar (sexually).  I have a hard time stomaching that sometimes.  Even though I'm sure I'd enjoy the overall series.

Mariana Klaveno is going to be at RingCon, too. Well, it's not as great as Stephen Moyer, but I am going to meet at least Bill's maker. Should be worth something. big_smile

I'm sure it'll be a great panel. And I'll definitely go to one of her photosessions. I recently ordered two Billsbabe Shirts I'm going to wear at the Con, that should be fun, too. big_smile

Re: True Blood

If these groupings are tring to tell us something about the next season, does the last one mean that Jason gets some vampy action? I thought he was taking care of the shapeshifting family/tribe now. of course it's never that simple with this show. big_smile Can't wait. I think I'll have a marathon with the previous season next weeks just to get properly back on track.

Re: True Blood

They are currently turning so many characters into supernatural creatures that I am beginning to fear there will be too many of those. They should keep a few normal ones, too.

But I still can't wait for season 4!!! I need my Bill fix! LOL

Re: True Blood

I agree Anne!  We need some regular people in there to deal with the supernatural in a way that we can relate to.
