two silly "Joan" questions ?
(1) Where was Arcadia supposed to be ?
(2) Who created Adam & Helen's works of art ?
At a certain part in your life. Probably when too much of it has gone by. You will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are. Especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals.

(1) It was supposed to be in Maryland, but I don't think they ever specified the exact location. It was definitely supposed to be a fictional city, even though there is an Arcadia in Maryland.
(2) I actually don't know. I assume someone from the prop department did.
And don't worry, your questions weren't silly.

Arcadia sorta reminded me of the same place where My So-Called Life took place, but that was supposed to be Buffalo, as I recall.

Arcadia is a weird place. It's supposed to be a small town, but every time the show a shot of the "town", it looks like a pretty big city to me. In our fic, Butterflies I placed it about 30 miles southwest of Baltimore.
