You probably didn't realize this but most of our members from other countries aren't complete wusses like we Americans and don't have A/C in their homes or their offices. It'll be fun seeing their comments to this thread.
For the record, I hate the heat/humidity in Hotlanta. We've had a pretty mild summer so far though and I've been very grateful for it!

Are you outside for your job? I always feel bad for people who have to work outside in extreme temps when I have a nice air conditioned office.

I hate the heat! I love the fall and winter! Rain and snow are amazing to me!

I like fall. And I like rain. Not storms, of course. But rain, yeah.

Heat's so rare in Pittsburgh, we enjoy it while we have it. 80-90 degrees or more is too much for us to step outdoors. Around 70 degrees is hot here. There's a joke that the east coast has two seasons: fall and winter.

Seventy is HEAVEN in Atlanta. We get it a lot in October & November, sometimes even December. In March & April, if the pollen's not too bad, you can just throw open the windows and not use any heat or A/C at all for like 3-4 weeks in a row. That's wonderful too. And my cat LOVES it when I can have windows open.

Over here the heat is driving me CRAZY. Everytime I go out it takes only SECONDS and I'm covered in sweat. I'm incredibly tried each time I manage to come home from work, which is why I'm currently not that much online as I used to be. I basically crash on my bed as soon as I made it into my apatment.

That's exactly the way it is here. Oppressive humidity that's just draining. I have A/C, but it can't really keep up when it's in the 90's like it is today.

Same here. The central air is blowing and blowing. But it still feels like you need a separate window unit going to be able to sleep at night. I hate it when it's this hot.
Offline
Yep, I'm having trouble sleeping too. And I have a ceiling fan over my bed and a small fan on a chest of drawers beside my bed pointed right at me. I still wake up sweating.

Our weather's just about the same as yours right now. It's 91 outside and 76 in here. My A/C is struggling, but not as badly as yours. I'm under a ceiling fan.

You guys didn't get flooded did you, Hoops? When was that? This past week? My best friend's office in Louisville did. They had to bail water out of their conference room.

Kate,
How cold is cold there in Melbourne. Here in Los Angeles if it gets into the high 30 F everyone says how cold it is. But that would be a very warm winter day in a lot of the US.

We work in degrees celsius, but converting to fahrenheit....all this week the tops are between 57 and 66. With the lows all roughly 40. I feel kinda weird reading that and then thinking about how cold it is here. Although this week is looking to be a rather mild winter weather. The summer just gone was kinda brutal though. I remember we had 4 days in a row that were 105-110. I dont even have air con at my house or my car, so i can understand heat. I do miss the heat and watching sunsets on the beach though. Even though i am very pale and sunburn easily i have always preferred the heat to the cold. The coldest we generally get regularly would be about 20, and that is for snowing and stuff up the mountains (btw our snow is crap, i wouldnt come here to ski or snowboard) But i am planning on vising across the US next year. I have submitted my application for Camp America already and organising my passport and saving up.....I am already getting all bouncy and excited and i still have to wait another 9 months

thanks, sounds like your weather is very similar to here in LA. Most of July was in the 100s (38c I think) here.
Just curious because I have always wanted to visit Australia (I may have said that before).

Yeah well here in Melbourne we are teased for having bad and cold weather. So that might give you an idea for the rest of Australia. I know my cousin lives in Queensland and i was chatting to her on Skype the other night and she was saying they were mid-70s and she was cold. I have been to the US west coast when i was 6 but dont really remember much about the weather but i have also been to Japan (centre mostly, Tokyo, Kyoto area) during their spring in 2001 and i didnt really notice much of a difference. So any films/tv shows that you are working on at the moment Rick that you can talk about? Surely you have some interesting behind the scenes stories to tell!

I did the Pilot for the new series "Mercy" and in theory I will be doing the series (but I never assume I am working on anything until it actually starts. I am also currently doing a animated series for Jim Henson Prods. called "Dinosaur Train" No interesting stories recently. And I can't talk about what will be in upcoming shows until they air. And remember, this is my job, I can't post the bad stuff about people who I may need to work for in the future, so I usually only will say the good stuff. For example, Bill Pullman was an excellent director, and a very good guy to work for, and I wish he would direct again.
And Annie Potts is the most normal celebrity I have ever met. She is talented easy to work with and seems like just another person which is very very rare in an actor or actress.
