Re: Mercy

Deb, did you see Wenesday's episode?  I couldn't respond to your comment about Harris because of the surprise in that episode, but he is starting on an interesting story arc.

We finished first again this week, I have hopes of a hit.

Re: Mercy

Just heard we got picked up for the back 9 (the full season).  It is very good news, I haven't had one of these in a while.

Re: Mercy

I did see it and I hated that they did that to him.  I'm glad he's going to have an interesting storyline though.  And that's awesome that it got picked up!  I could see this one going for years.  And I'll be there watching.  big_smile

Re: Mercy

That's great news, Rick. smile I really dig Trauma (more than FlashForward), wonder if that one's going to be around for more than half a season. Must be a really expensive show to shoot, what with all the action.

Re: Mercy

That's great news, Rick!  I just read this on IMDb.  Wonderful news!  I wish the networks would stop hedging their bets and making half-assed 8-show commitments to shows.  But at least you're show is still alive, and that's fantastic.

Re: Mercy

I just read Trauma has been cancelled. Which really sucks because right now it's actually the show I looked forward most of all the ones I'm watching. After only 5 episodes! Though I have no idea what the ratings are, but for a show as expensive to shoot as this one, the ratings would have had to be close to phenomenal to keep it, right?

Re: Mercy

Yes, and it's the Jay Leno factor again, I suspect.  Since NBC moved that stupid talk show to 10 PM and lost five hours of prime time, they've been canceling shows left and right.  Look what they did to SouthLAnd.  They renewed it after very solid ratings and great reviews last year.  Then they shot 6 eps that they were going to start airing on October 23rd.  But then that very week, they just arbitrarily cancelled it without ever airing one single ep of the second season they ordered.  It shocked the living crap out of everyone.

At this point, I think I would strongly advise people not to get too attached to ANY NBC show.  Hopefully, they'll leave Mercy alone and it will finish out the season at the very least...

Re: Mercy

PS: I'm especially pissed about Trauma getting cancelled now because Kevin Rankin's character, Tyler just came out this week.  I thought that was awesome and a really interesting thing for him to play.  Oh well.

Re: Mercy

I didn't want to mention it, because I knew people here liked the show, but Trauma Has been basically dead since it's second week.  You are both right about what happened.  An expensive show has to do better to survive than a cheap show does, and Jay Leno's show is definately hurting NBC.  But since NBC has now ordered (and therefore will be paying for) the whole season of Mercy, We will get a whole season at the least.

Re: Mercy

Great ep tonight.  Sweet and painful, just the way I like 'em.  Stiller & Meara were wonderful.  They've still got it.  I'm so glad they're making Harris a real person and not just a cartoon.  Excellent all the way around.

I really thought Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) was amazing in this episode.  The look on his face when he is realizing what has been going on...was really special.

He absolutely was.  I was going to mention that scene.  It tore me up.  He's so likable in that role, I really ache for him.

Re: Mercy

Just read this on LiveJournal:

Trauma uncancelled?

On its first airing, the Peter Berg-produced Trauma drew just 6.9 million viewers and a 2.3 rating in the key 18-49 category. On the bright side, Trauma did build on its lackluster Heroes lead-in. Also, the reviews were disappointing, a backlash came from the Emergency Medical Services community, and a hefty pricetag made it one of NBC's most expensive new fall series. It's been so much on the bubble since its debut that it was declared DOA by blogs (who claimed NBC had decided not to order any more episodes of the medical drama to make room for the return of Chuck to Monday nights next year.) But I've learned that NBC has told the show this week the network not only will produce all 13 episodes from its current order but also order more. What helped to earn a pickup? A recent ratings rise.

Not sure where the text originally came from, but it sounds like good news. However, I still don't see it surviving past those first 13 episodes, even though I would absolutely love to see it going into a second season.

Re: Mercy

This week's ep was a blast, I thought.  I'm glad it's sticking around a while longer.  I love Rabbit & Marissa and Tyler & Boone.

Re: Mercy

For me it's getting better by the episode. I dig all the characters, and Rabbit's definitely growing on me. I thought the episode where Nancy and Glenn have the accident was awesome. Kinda felt like an action movie more than a TV show. Took me back to those epic ER disaster episodes they used to have every once in a while.

Re: Mercy

Attention JOA fans.  we do not have a new episode tonight or next week, but the one airing the week after, features a guest appearance by Jason Ritter.  The part plays to his strengths, but I'm not sure it is one of the better guest parts we have had.  In the end, it is always fun to watch him act.

Re: Mercy

Because we don't have another new episode airing until Jan.  I'm not much ahead of you right now.  But my guess would be no, although they have been bringing some people back I didn't expect.
