We all have a soft spot in our hearts for crap movies, so I decided they need their own thread. Here's where we'll talk about and/or suggest movies that should be scary but end up making you laugh, movies with endings so abrupt and out of place that they make your jaw drop. Movies that are just plain bad.
I watched Mega-Shark vs. Giant Octopus a couple weeks ago. We had discussions about this movie before. And, yes, the shark really does jump out of the ocean, tear a plane out of the sky and eat it.
Here's the next movie I want to watch, Grizzly Rage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zfjxhex9z8 I read the entire plot on Wikipedia, sounds like a fun, eye rolling watch.

To be quite honest, nothing really comes to mind for me. I try to make an informed choice about what movies I go see in the theater or buy on DVD, and I usually end up liking what I see. Since I've given up on watching German TV completely (=> German dubbing), it never really happens that I end up watching just anything because I'm bored.
Sure, I have seen movies in the past that now I wouldn't watch again even if you paid me for it. But mostly those were films that someone else wanted to see and I just went along for the sake of it. I've never walked out of a movie, though I kinda wanted to when they showed "Saved!" as a sneak preview a friend of mine made me come along to.

I thought old whatshisface started a "guilty pleasures" thread once. I love a lot of movies most people think are bad. But I'll have to think about it a little. Nothing comes to mind at the moment --- well, OK, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
I fell in love with that movie when I was 14 and never got over it. Beatles fans hate me for liking that movie. Aesthetically, it really is kinda terrible. But I can't help myself.

I really enjoyed the Jaws rip-off called Grizzly, aka Claws. I recall seeing Grizzly, a true B movie, at the classic University theatre in Toronto. The University can be seen, briefly, at the start of Strange Brew.
Grizzly, while awful, is a great "crap" movie.

How could you not love it with that cast!

I saw Grizzly also when it came out. It was stupid enough to be enjoyable.
For me there are the obvious ones like Plan 9 From Outer Space, Glen or Glenda and Robot Monster that are so terrible that they are funny. For me the tougher question is the movies you know are bad, but that work for you anyway. There are some, I just have to remember them.

Yeah, I think that's what we're going for here. Not obvious stuff, but things that we love that are just too cheeseball to admit.
Here's one, My Best Friend Is A Vampire. So low rent, but so charming in its way. Robert Sean Leonard is adorable.
From the 70's, Switchblade Sisters, which was given a wee bit of legitimacy when Quentin Tarrantino made it his first Rolling Thunder Pictures release. Awesomely bad, totally funky and hilarious.
I have a perverse fondness for Don "The Dragon" Wilson movies.
The Gate & even more so The Gate II.
I'm sure I'll think of more...

I like the idea of posting the original poster for our crap movies. Try to find them if you can. It'll make it more fun!

I saw Lake Placid when I was like ten, it was on TV once and my grandma wanted to watch it cause Betty White was in it. It's a horror/comedy, but the horror was funnier than the comedy.
Really, just the poster for Grizzly Rage is hilarious to look at.
The ultimate "Thrilla in Manila". I was rooting for the Octopus.
The best thing about Zyzzyx Road is that the name is impossible to say.

I think Troll and Troll 2 are stupid movies but they're both entertaining for at least one viewing.
I saw the movie Lynch Mob recently. It has horrible acting but it's very funny!

They arent so much crap movies....But I do get embarrassed to admit just how much I enjoy movies that were designed for kids. All the pixar and other cartoon ones! OMG they are amazing and I really love watching them. But I also love those extremely easy to predict handing you the moral on a silver platter types too. So corny and cheesy but I am just such a big kid at heart and I can watch them over and over.

Okay, Here are a few(I think low expectations may have something to do with why I like most of these)
A Cinderella Story (yes the Hilary Duff movie)
Dirty Work (the norm Mcdonald movie makes me laugh every time)
Not Another Teen Movie (make me Laugh)
Let It Ride (Quirky race track movie, not sure why I like it, but I do)
King Creole(it's here because it's an Elvis movie, but I think it really is a good movie and it was directed by Micheal Curtiz)

Michael Curtiz was great. if you want an Elvis movie that belongs on this list, there's always...
Yeah, Mary Tyler Moore as a sexy nun! That's the ticket.
And while we're talking about stupid music movies, how do you beat Oliva Newton-John on rollershakes?

Here is a pretty fun "slasher" movie that featured a very young Jason Alexander (with hair !)
It was also the first film produced by Harvey Weinstein, who also wrote the story (brother Bob did the screenplay) !
NOTE - the Weinstein brothers were originally concert promoters in Buffalo, NY., known as "Harvey & Corky".
