Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

TeeJay, I'm just curious, how'd you find my writing community?  It is my homepage at my fanfiction.net account but I haven't written anything there since January, and even then it was just a one shot no one really paid attention to, before that I hadn't written anything there for two years.  So did you get it there, find it randomly searching LiveJournal, or something completely different?

Poop!  I got home from work a few minutes ago and I was all jazzed to read Laura's new stuff.  But there's something wrong with Live Journal right now.  sad

Yeah, it gets like that everyone once in a while.   There's some minor problem and they decide to shut the entire site down.  Sometimes it's a big problem though too.  I'm sure the support team has people down their throats and their inboxs are full right now, so it'll hopefully be back up soon.

Oh, I'll try again later.  Don't worry.

Hey, I just noticed you're in Pittsburgh.  You didn't know Chris was shooting a movie there when they were filming Graduation back in '05, did you?  Otherwise, you might've tried to go meet him, right?

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

I didn't know, or I would have been at the set everyday.   I'm not really in Pittsburgh, I live in a suburb about 30 minutes from it.    In '05 I was 15 or 16, depending on the time of year they filmed, and I wouldn't have been able to get there anyway.  I really can't wait to see  Graduation though, he looks good with the green hair and a cartilage peircing (I'm not a fan of the eyebrow peircing).  Me and my friends are renting it for our next movie night smile.

That will be a movie night in an unknown future.  Nobody has any idea when that thing's coming out.

That sucks!

As long as LJ realized the problem, it should be coming back soon... or sometime tonight... maybe.

I agree.  have you seen all the cool wallpapers TeeJay made?  They're really wonderful.  The trailer looks great.  But Chris is unfortunately very unhappy with the way it turned out.

Yeah, the wallpapers are what made me want to see it.  If Chris is unhappy with it maybe it's better it doesn't come out...

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

I think it'll go to DVD eventually ---if they ever give up trying to sell it theatrically, which at this point they're unwilling to do.  His complaint is that it was sold to him as a friendship drama with this funny, outrageous bank heist as just a part of it.  But they cut out the heart of it and made it all about the bank heist, made it a caper comedy.  He really liked the story that they went out there to shoot a lot.  And he said doing the movie was taking a big chance.

Not to psychoanalyze him or anything, but my feeling is that he's really artistically frustrated these days because he wants to do dramas, darker stuff.  "It's more art for me," he has said.  And he's been stuck in comedy for a long time.  He actually said in January that he was going to stay away from comedy for a while.  And then he signed on to do Infestation.  He wants to do the kind of significant film that he loves to watch and that he knows he can do.  We all know he can too.  He doesn't wanna do TV, but he wants to do drama.  It just hasn't worked out in his favor.

Then David Goyer almost cuts him out of The Invisible, which he really suffered for, more than people know.  And his character's arch is castrated.  And here comes Graduation, bastardized into a goofy teen comedy that they're trying to sell to 12-year-olds.

The guy's way deeper than people realize.  He's a professional and he does what's expected of him, like the junket for TI.  But when it came to the premiere screening that was so low-key no press was invited and word was spread that there wasn't even gonna be one, Chris chose to go support Amber Tamblyn at her Stephanie Daley premiere instead.  It's amazingly rare for him to belittle anything he's done, but he hinted at being unhappy with TI in October of last year and then recently he flat out told us he hated Graduation.  And I could just hear him saying it with the same vigor in his voice as when he told us that he hated the whole Bonnie plot on JoA.  He really takes what he does to heart.  He just wants to do great work.

But of course, we find something to love in everything he does.  So we suck up our disappointment that some very important Chris moments didn't make the Alpha Dog final cut and Universal chose to release a bare bones DVD.  We comfort ourselves that at least we'll get some gorgeous screencaps from The Invisible DVD, and there will be some deleted stuff, hopefully featuring Chris.  And we'll all dive into Graduation as soon as we possibly can in spite of everything because he's dead sessy as our little rocker boy, Carl.

And we'll wait and hope for that great role that finally shows the rest of the world what JoA fans already know.  The guy's for real.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

I can see why he'd want to do great work, he's capable of it.   If the casting people don't think he can do drama because of all the comedy he's done, they really do need to watch JoA and see his tear ducts at work.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Bah.  I haaaaate sixapart.   Not too long ago they decided to do a mass deletion of almost every fanfic journal on the website because someone was complaining about the underage sex, rape, etc.   For a little while I was worried about my own journal because some of the more graphic Adam/Joan stuff did have them when they were underage.

I can't wait until tomorrow, one more reason for people to tell LJ to dump 6A because the problem is in their office.  The only reason they teamed up was so LJ could make more money than they were on merchendise and paid accounts, and those are expensive. </rant>

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Heh, whenever LJ decides to wake up, on the side bar of my community click the Joan/Adam prompt table link.  The ones that are highlighted in blue are rated R, the lovers prompt is both of them but broken is him and Bonnie and his thoughts as it happens.  The sunrise prompt (it's not rated R) isn't really graphic, but it's a morning after thing... very cute and fluffy.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Hah.  My main page only posts the last ten fics I've posted... I've posted over 80 Joan of Arcadia fics.  On every fic there's tags, click the Joan of Arcadia tag and it'll take away all the other fandoms in there and just show you the JoA stuff.

I just seriously considered leading you over to my FFN account, but I won't do that.  It'll make you lose all respect you may have built in my writing.

I think I actually found it through Google. This one night, I was craving Adam/Joan stuff that I hadn't read before and I did a Google search, in hopes of finding a fanfic archive that maybe I hadn't been to before. Yours wasn't on the first pages, but I was tenacious and scrolled my way through the pages.

Actually, I'd like to link it in our JoA FanFic section on the website. Would you mind me doing so?

Edit: I just went and googled Joan/Adam fanfiction and I made it to the first page, second and third links.
