Re: Randomness

<shrugs> Hey, that's what the German word is. No my fault at all! big_smile (zaubern = do magic, Stab = stick)

The funny thing when I started to read Harry Potter was that I had to look up all these magic-related words, because even though I considered my English very good then, I just didn't know what a wand, quill or a cauldron was. Those are not really words you use in every day language, are they?

And now we go on with the book: "And Harry flicked his magic stick and held it in Ginny's direction to show her what he could make it do." :embarrassed:

Yeah, same here. Well, I kind of figured out what a cauldron is myself, but I just couldn't find out what a wand was. But how am I supposed to finish reading the books with knowing the second meaning of the word? Why did you not wait until next week to tell me? I would have finished the books by then!
Ah well, I don't blame you. It's kinda funny. big_smile

No, they're not everyday words... at least not in America.  Unless you're a witch... but quills still aren't normal for all witches.

And it's dirtier STILL!!! I bet Harry can make his magic stick do some pretty spectacular things.  lol

Well, Harry lives in Britan, maybe only British wizards and witches use quills. wink

Today was the crappiest day of my life. I had an awful day at the internship and then I found out that I lost my Bank account card, so I had to block my account. :crying::crying::crying::crying::crying::crying:

Well, I tried too and I couldn't get there either.  So I guess it's finally gone.  Wonder if that domain name will become available now...

Re: Randomness

I'd still rather have christopher-marquette.com. Do we want the chrismarquette.com one? We only have one more we can grab (or let go of chrismarquette.net). According to whois.sc, the chrismarquette.com domain is registered until 11-01-2009 (Domain Status:  Registered And No Website), but that doesn't mean Chris's uncle didn't let it go earlier. When I try to register it, it says I can't because it's taken. Maybe Chris's publicist finally decided it's time for a "real" official website and we're gonna see something new up there fairly soon? Who knows....

Re: Randomness

Somehow I doubt that it was snagged by the publicist.  Maybe the uncle just hasn't let it go yet?

Whoa, scary. I don't think we've ever had a tornado near where I live(d). Which I consider a good thing. Glad you're all right, Illinois!

Creepy!  I've actually been stuck at O'Hare in a terrible thunderstorm, so I've seen how bad it can get up there in your area, Illinois.  Like TeeJay said, glad you're OK!
