Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Laura & TeeJay, I sent you a doc I created for the wedding fic with all the notes we have so far.  Just in case you get inspired.  Send it back to me if you get anything, even if it's only tidbits.

We haven't introduced anymore of her friends.  You can make up a couple of people if you want.

I threw Lily in there, I figured she'd be fun to have around at a bachelorette party.  I sent it back to you, I just added a little snippet at the end.

Lily!  Of course!  Why didn't I think of that?  Cool.  I'll look for it.  Could take a while because I'm attempting to email a huge file right now.

Here's a really angsty but good story that was just posted on FFN: Reversing The Stitches

It's an AU to Common Thread.

Well, how 'bout a little tease?  Would I like it or is it someone else's version of a McPunisher fic?

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Hm.... I don't know if you'll like it. Adam is certainly McPunished. But it's got possibilities. Don't wanna give too much away. The first part is really angsty because Adam gets roughed up real bad and ends up in the hospital. Have you read my story "Underwater". This is kinda like the amplified version of that.

I don't know if I read it or not.  I can't remember your titles.  You'd have to tell me what it was about.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Underwater is my AU to Common Thread. Adam doesn't come down the mountain by himself, he needs to be rescued because he's lying unconscious at the bottom of a slope. He's in a coma for a while, but is back among the living after a week or so. I wrote it ages ago, and I'm sure I'd write it differently if I wrote it now.

Yeah, I am ususally not very fond of stories about Adam and Joan having children (as you know), but this one seems interesting.

Looks like people get re-inspired about Adam and Joan lately. Here's a really short but great AU for the camper scene from Independence Day:

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

It's so short, I can probably repost it here. It's cute. Don't think it's what you've been hoping for, but it definitely goes in that direction.

TV Shows » Joan Of Arcadia » Independence
Author: colorthestars
Fiction Rated: T - English - Romance/Angst - Published: 08-19-07 - Updated: 08-19-07 - Complete id:3734528
Disclaimer: I own nothing, except the arrangement of the words used. They belong to Barbara Hall and whoever else would take legal action if I claimed I owned the characters.
Rating: PG-13
Author's Note: According to the actual owners of this story, this story would be out of character, but I disagree. It's a quick fic, but I think you'll get the jest. It was 1 AM when I wrote this story and a little after 2 AM when I decided to post it - so don't be too harsh in your reviews. Please feel free to use my fic as an inspiration to a future story; I'd love to read it.

We both had to lie to our parents to get here. We're in a camper. I don't want my first time to be in a camper. I don't want my first time to be now. I'm not ready. Neither is he, I'm pretty sure of that. But, he kisses me so passionately that it wakes up all kind of new feelings, making me near breathless and logic less clear.

"Adam." I manage as I feel his hand move up the back of my shirt. It's such a confusing feeling until it kicks in just how afraid of the physical action that he seems to be suggesting.

"Adam." I repeat again, but muster up enough strength from my trembling voice to add more. "No."

His hand leaves my back, falling onto his stomach as he rolls over onto his back, giving me space. I feel like crying. I don't want him to be mad at me, but I can't do what he wants.

"Are you mad at me?" I ask him, pleading him not to be.

He shakes his head and tells me quietly, "You aren't ready. I understand."

I manage a smile through the tears welling up in my eyes and move to lay my head in the crook of his shoulder. Gently, his right hand moves around my waist, as if to encourage me to stay there with him.

His lips brush my forehead in an innocent kiss. "I can wait." He says trying to reassure me, as his left hand runs through my hair, soothing me to sleep.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

I'm back.  No, not early... I seriously do need another day to recover before I do anything fanficy.  I'm having issues typing right now.  I didn't really write anything during my vacation, but I did get ideas coming to me on the bus ride home last night.    I know, I suck... but I'll have something new up on my LJ in the next couple days.

Laura, you're back! We've missed you! Happy belated birthday too. I posted something for you in the birthday thread in the OT section. Look forward to reading your next story, but no rush. Just take your time and relax. The ideas and dialogues will come to you when they're meant to.

Oh, wow. Just as soon as I put up a thread for it (I probably should've checked through here first, *facepalm*), I find that a link's already been put. :embarrassed: Gee, now I feel odd...

I don't know what a McPunisher fic is *naive*, but I'll guarantee here that I didn't just write it to beat up Adam. He does get hurt, yeah, and the first part is ... angst, but I just put up the second part today, and I ask that you read up until the end of it before passing a judgement. The second part is, surprisingly, not very angsty.

... And now I feel odd again. >.>

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

"McPunisher" is TeeJay's nickname (we like Grey's Anatomy a bit too McMuch) because she loves to put Adam and Joan --- mostly Adam --- through utter hell.    I prefer fluff.  But I will definitely print out your fic and take it to lunch with me to read tomorrow.

And it's OK that you relinked it.  smile

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

:embarrassed: Heh, thanks... I tend to torture my favorite characters (I don't mean to!), so I guess some people could call this a McPunisher story. It all depends if emotional punishment counts, too. >.> Ahh, print it out? ... I have that odd feeling again...

Someone saying they'll print out something I've written is like my version of discovering the holy grail, so excuse me if I'm a tad light-headed.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Hee.  Well, that's probably the only way I'll get to read it.  My boss has this thing since we moved into our new office location.  She won't let us eat at our desks anymore because she's afraid we'll ruin the carpet.  So I can't read online during my lunch now.  Also, I have to go to the bank tomorrow and jigger some funds around.  I might be sitting in a drive-thru for a while.

It was really fun talking to you.  I hope you'll stick around.  I gotta crash now.  Night.  Zzzzzzzzzzzzz.
