Re: Strong Medicine

No, I don't really have a list. I used to do that, but I stopped doing that for some reason. Probably laziness. tongue I'll start packing on Monday, then I have Tuesday to organize things that I might have forgotten. But I'm usually quite good with packing. I always have the feeling I've forgotten something, but I can't remember ever having gone anywhere and forgot to take something vital.

We could try to hook Bosco up to the TV and "tape" the Chris scenes on Bosco. That might just work because taping the whole ep would use too much hard drive space. That'd be totally cool.

Oh yeah, please try that. For me. wink

Re: Strong Medicine

LOL!  I've been trying to go to bed for an hour but a certain fic by a certain chick has kept me awake.  My TV was on Strong Med just because.  I didn't know if they were Chris eps or not since I was writing and paying little attention.  The first one had a tidbit and now, as I'm getting ready to turn off the TV, in this second ep, I find myself in none other than the scene where Marc talks to Peter about his first wet dream.  OK, I can crash now.  This had better stay very far away from my dreams.

Copying this over from the Chris-Watch thread:

Strong Medicine - Zol Zein Gezint (WTF?  I don't have this title on my list of Marc eps, do I?)

What season is that? One of the earlier ones? And what's that title supposed to mean? Is that Yiddish or something?

The ep is not listed in his imdb credits.
Well, as always, I don't have a clue. In Germany only the first season aired and I didn't even watched it then.

Re: Strong Medicine

Apparently, it's from Season 2.  TVGuide.com lists its original airdate as October 8, 2001.

Re: Strong Medicine

I'm toying with the idea of applying with the amazon.de rental thing. You have to pay a monthly fee, but you can then rent DVDs from them. They send them to you by mail and you send them back by mail. You can keep them as long as you want, but there's a limit as to how many DVDs a month you get. And apparently you don't pay the fee if you don't rent any DVD for a whole month. I could go through all the SM boxes that way without buying them. Maybe next year. So far only s1 is out on DVD in Germany anyway.

Re: Strong Medicine

Yeah, I'll wait for the last 3 seasons before I try to find a way to see the DVDs.  I'd love to see all the eps, but I could do that on TV if I paid more attention to the schedule and made sure to tape them all.  I've tried but they don't always play them in order.  It's very annoying.

Re: Strong Medicine

WOW!  I'm watching the Season One ep Drug Interactions on Lifetime.  And the Marc and Lu story is that she gets a paycheck that not garnished for a debt and decides to buy something for Marc.  She gets him the latest hand held video game and some eighth graders beat him up, steal it, pawn it for a gun and commit a robbery with it.  When Marc is brough to Lu in the hospital and he tells her what happened, he's very calm, trying to be tough.  But tears are streaming down his face. This is some really fine TDA here.  I don't think I've ever seen Chris cry so stoically before.  Excellent work.  This was 7 years ago.

Later, there's a really cute scene where Lu gets in a boxing ring with Marc to teach him how to defend himself.

After that, she shields him from seeing a drug deal go down by playfully head-locking him as they leave the clinic, then they bump hips as they walk down the street.  Despite the fact that this drug deal that Lu glimpsed is very disappointing for her because she tried to help the junkie, she's only concerned about distracting Marc from it.

Re: Strong Medicine

Hehe, that's funny. Was it one of the early episodes? There's some really cute scenes with Chris, especially in the later episodes when he looks more grown up. Unfortunately he wasn't on the show much anymore after he started working on JoA. And I'd love to see all the Chris episodes some time. Well, maybe once all the DVDs are out and I can rent them on amazon.de.

Re: Strong Medicine

Ah, "Body Mass Increase", one of the later episodes with lots of Chris exposure. Love that episode! It has some classic lines. "Define... first moment."

The quality of this screencap sucks, but he's still damn cute:

StrongMed_5x13_193.jpg

It's the scene where he gets on the elevator after saying goodbye to Lou (or is she spelled Lu?) at the end of the episode.

Re: Strong Medicine

It's spelled Lu, short for Luisa.  And Body Mass Increase is definitely my all time favorite Strong Medicine ep.  Irina, if you had to stumble upon one ep of that show, this was THE one to stumble upon!  You lucked out girl!

That ep was shot early in JoA S2.  So we get an almost Adamy version of Marc.  I think maybe that's one reason I loved it so much.

Re: Strong Medicine

You were at least able to watch all seasons. They brought only the first season to Germany and they did it at a time I didn't know about Chris, so I never watched it. But well, I', kinda happy because it would have been dubbed into German and I HATE watching dubbed Television.
