Re: Chris At San Diego Comic Con 7/26/07

I've been through the entire series only twice, once when they aired and once on DVD. Joe and I just started, but we've been watching 4-6 episodes a day. Some of my favorites off the top of my head would have to be "Phases", "Earshot", "Hush", "The Body", "Once More With Feeling", "Tabula Rasa"....the list goes on...

I actually "got" the show really early on. I still remember watching the first episode with my Dad and everything. It was probably the first television show that I kept up with each week whether anyone was watching it with me or not. Prior to that I'd just flip the channels until I found something good. Having said that, it was probably around the episodes "Surprise" and "Innocence" (where Angel goes bad) that I really, really got into it and started understanding and loving the characters. I totally remember sobbing at the end of the second season.

Re: Chris At San Diego Comic Con 7/26/07

You know what the very first ep I ever saw all the way through was?  New Moon Rising from S4 where Willow has to choose between Oz & Tara.  I started watching it regularly after that.  Took me a while to see the whole series all the way through but I got there eventually.  Now I've seen it so many times I can't even count because it's still on FX everyday and I used to wake up to it every morning.  I have S4-6 on DVD.  My former roommate had 1-3 so I just never bought them.  Now, I want them!  I wasn't verly fond of S7.

Re: Chris At San Diego Comic Con 7/26/07

It was really hard for me to warm up to Tara, being such a huge Oz fan. I was in sixth grade when Wild at Heart and New Moon Rising aired, I remember it pretty vividly. I think I still have a Willow & Oz shirt somewhere in storage, along with their action figures. Buffy was the first thing I got really geeky about, lol.

Yeah, I hear ya.  I came to the show at such a weird time, my experience was totally different.  I actually ended up loving both characters.

Re: Chris At San Diego Comic Con 7/26/07

I am kinda a newcomer to the show. I began watching them when they were airing on FX. I began watching it May, 2005. That Christmas I begged and got my dad to buy me the Chosen Collection. So, it's up on my shelf to this day. And I bought all 5 Angel seasons in about a year. Bought 4 of them at The Vintage, so I got them pretty cheap.
I've probably seen all Buffy episodes 4 times. Even though it was off the air when I started watchong it, it was probably the first show that I really got into.
I'm having my own marathon too at the moment. lol
Except I'm trying a new angle for me. I'm watching every episode from the very last one in season 7 to Welcome To The Hellmouth.
I'm at Normal Again in season 6. So, I'll watch Hell's Bells next.

I never would watch it before because I thought, like so many idiots, it was just some dumb teen show about Vampires, but then when nothing was on those two years ago I finally just settled on Buffy, and I was hooked. I can't believe I missed out on such a show. But better late than never. I think the first episode I watched was Halloween or Killed By Death.

And Gnarly, I get you with the Oz/Tara thing. I hated that he left, but I really started liking Tara in later episodes. But when I see old ones from it, I start missing Oz.

How cheap is cheap?  I desperately want Angel S3.

Re: Chris At San Diego Comic Con 7/26/07

We got it when it first came out, and it was only $143.00. That's what my dad paid for it when he ordered it. I think we used Barnes & Noble online, and we had a member card, so that saved a little bit.

But compared to buying all seven seasons seperately, it saved a lot.

Re: Chris At San Diego Comic Con 7/26/07

Oh, you meant Angel, lol sorry, I'm dumb.

Well, bookstores and Wal-Mart's are about $35.00- $40.00 and I got seasons 1, 2, 3, and 4 at The Vintage for $20.00. It's in Tulsa, so when we drive over there, that's usually where I buy movies and shows. I think there's also a Vintage in Arkansas. It's a cool place.
I bought season 5 at Hastings for about $35.00.

Re: Chris At San Diego Comic Con 7/26/07

I've bid on a few sets at eBay but someone always out bids me at a certain point.  Since I'd have to pay shipping, I don't wanna go over $12.  Maybe I'll get lucky one of these days.

Re: Chris At San Diego Comic Con 7/26/07

LOL, I was so pissed when the Chosen Collection came out. We had spent so much more than $150 on all the seasons we already had. And plus, it's pretty.

And yeah Deb, you might want to check all of the music/movie stores that do trades, I've found a lot of good TV shows in places like that for much less than what they go for at the popular stores.

I've actually tried a couple.  I've never found it in a store for less than $35.

Yeah, it sucks that it's so expensive. Well, if I should win the lottery sometime, I'll buy copies for us all, okay? lol

There's an Angel set like the Chosen Buffy set. It's blue instead of red. I think it's available in Europe more than the US. And you can get it from Amazon. I don't care, I have all the season's so whatever. But if anyone watches Angel as well, I can post a link to it.

I only really want season three of Angel on DVD.  It's my favorite.

Re: Chris At San Diego Comic Con 7/26/07

I wrote to the Dragon Con website today and asked about a possible Fanboys presence. I also wrote to the Fed-Con guys. Fed-Con is the German sci-fi con, takes place once a year. It used to be a Star Trek con, but they've started to make it a broader con about pretty much everything sci-fi in recent years. I just wrote in and asked if they wanted to consider inviting Kyle and the Fanboys guys. I have no idea if they actually consider comments from fans writing in, but it was at least worth a try. Would be awesome if the guys came over here, even if it's just Kyle.

It's official, Chris is not gonna be at Dragon Con. So, sorry guys, no new interview to come your way this soon. Let's hope we'll get another chance when the time is right.
