Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

You think a "Don't read it when you're under 18" sign would make them stop reading it? I doubt that. LOL

I just posted a new Adam/Joan story... they basically talk about how many kids they want.   .... It's weird

TeeJay and I just got back from a long day going up to Chattanooga, TN.  Pictures to follow.  Read it, loved it!

Definitely very high up on the cuteness scale, Laura. Loved it.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

I liked it. Very cute. The ending had a huge giggle/awe factor (I did both).

My life long dream is to somehow get Adam Rove into a puppy-suit. Until then, my imagination will have to tide me over.

... *melts* Oh, gosh, that was ADORABLE! I was seriously giggling throughout the entire thing. Imagining that made me smile, especially when Adam yelped.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

For the record: it's very hard to have Adam and Joan face a problem and solve it in a page and a half.... which is why the ending of the story I just posted is sort of hanging open.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Seconded. Even watching, you know these two have a hard time working out problems. O.o

On the note of the story, I liked it. You didn't mention their jobs (or former for Joan), so the reader just focused on the bare facts. Not to mention I can totally see Joan hesitant about going back to work when her children need her. ^_^

That was my intention... and that I couldn't decide on jobs for them.   I honestly never sit down and decide on facts about back stories for my ficlets, I just get a scene in my head and write it, which is why they always tend to be written in less than an hour.

Thanks.

I know what you mean. I call that a "scene flash". I often have these scenes in my head that play out perfectly in front of my mind's eye. But I usually then go and develop more of a story around them. And often it happens that while I'm writing it, the characters continue to speak in my head.

Most of my stories were conceived around a scene flash, and I love it when they happen.

That's exactly what happens with me too- I get a little scene in my head and build an entire story around it. That's actually how Reversing the Stitches was born (typing the last part of the epilogue now). Those kinds of stories are fun, because you get to fill in everything around the scene, and sometimes it turns out totally different from how you first invisioned it.

But I understand with your dilemma too, Laura. Adam could go into something art based, but mentioning his job would mean mentioning Joan's too, and...well, we have no idea what Joan could end up doing. T_T

I just posted a new one... it might be a little out of character for Adam and Joan but I think it's cute.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Thanks, guys.

The reason I probably saw it as out of character is because I just re-watched season one, when Adam wouldn't be able to get off Joan fast enough if she had to leave but acted like a little sad puppy when she did... he learned to stand his ground in season two.

You're so right about that, Laura. That's why I love s2 pre-Bonnie Adam to bits.

My imagination ran away with me when I read it...

Were you thinking dirty thoughts, Deb? tongue   If you were, you'll probably like a sequel-ish thing I thought of for it.
