Re: Randomness

LOL!  Do it.  I was looking for this little A/J vignette that I wanted to send you but I don't seem to have it.  It involves a t-shirt Adam wants to wear that Joan objects to.  Have you ever seen the t-shirts for the sports teams at Rizde?

Re: Randomness

Back to non-R-rated randomness for one sec.  Wendy's is finally serving breakfast.  Might try the 99 cent egg & cheese sandwich tomorrow.  Today, they had girls dressed as Wendy on the sidewalk of the two locations I passed holding up Try Our Breakfast signs.  I Googled the menu and it took me finding some random guy who took a picture of a flyer he got to learn what they actually have.  No Internet launch for their new menu.  Big dummies.

That actually sounds like something I would do.  Maybe it's my brother.

Re: Randomness

Okay, I gotta ask this because it hurts my eyes when I read it (and Laura, you will know why I'm mentioning this). I have often seen people spell "would've" and "should've" so that it looks like "would of" and "should of". Which, grammar-wise, is wronger than wrong. Like I said, it hurts my eyes. However, there's this person who claimed that nowadays, because so many people spell it wrong, it has become an accepted misspelling and might soon find its way into dictionaries.

Is that true?? If so, what wrong with you Americans??? wink

Isn't that a way of saying: Why teach the kids when you can show them that what they're doing wrong will be officially accepted as being right eventually?

Re: Randomness

I just fixed the words in my prompt table because I can't figure it out either.   There is no use for should of, would of, or could of... unless it was a sentence like "you could/would/should, of course" but even that really makes no sense.

There is no way those words can end up in a dictonary, except as a "common mispronounciation" of the correct word.

Re: Randomness

I'm actually happy you pointed it out to me, other wise they probably would have made their ways into one (or three) of my stories because it does sound right in my brain.

Re: Randomness

I'm confused.  Are you saing "would of" is wrong, or "would've"?

Re: Randomness

Yeah, Laura and I had this discussion about it on her LJ because I asked if "would of", "should of" and "could of" was supposed to be "would've", "should've" and "could've". And the person she wrote to came back with that slightly ridiculous statement about it finding its way into the dictionary soon.

Re: Randomness

I think she was just trying to talk her way out of it instead of a simple "I don't know, I didn't make the table", which she said anyway.

Re: Randomness

LOL!  I see.

Laura, TeeJay and I reconstructed the Rizde t-shirt thingie today.  She wrote as much of it as she could remember and I went back over it with what I could remember.  It's actually a bit longer now and I think even better than it was.  Gonna send it to you from home tonight.  See if I can get a giggle out of you.  I'll be home about 7 or so, I guess.
