You bet smile

I really hope Graduation does well in Houston, that way we get a wider release sooner rather than later.

Re: Graduation

Hey guys!
So Ive been reading here fore a little while trying to see if anyone knew when we'd see this movie.
I was an extra in the movie, and the movie was shot at my school.
Ive been dying to see the movie!
[just like yall]
I literately fainted [not really] when I saw Chris with neon green hair.
Favorite actor and favorite color<3

Has there been any updates...?

Re: Graduation

Nothing except that it recently screened in Houston at World Fest.  There's one very good review from the Houston Chronicle.  The producers believe in it so much that they refuse to let it go directly to video even though they're having a terrible time finding distribution.  We're dying to see it!  Have you seen all the pics, the trailer and the wallpapers we have?

So did you meet Chris?

Re: Graduation

Hi Hannah, welcome to the message board. Nice to have you with us. So, are there any stories about the movie that you'd like to share? Or about Chris? What role did you play as an extra?

Yeah, we're all waiting for the movie, especially since it seems to be really funny and better than I expected. I personally hope it's going directly to DVD, so that I can see it as soon as you guys in the US.

Re: Graduation

Know what I just realized?  If Carl has an Iggy Pop tatoo on his back, that means naked torso Carl.

Otherwise, why would they bother creating a tattoo?  It's probably in the scene where he wakes up in the girl's bed and steals her bank keys.

Re: Graduation

Deb, Anne, can one of you put something together for the invite Mike Mayer sent us? We'd need something for the front page and also here on the MB. Quite frankly, I'm tired and headachy and I don't think I can string a thought together coherent enough for this purpose right now. I've been working late and a lot today. Sorry. Oh, we also need a reply for Mike by e-mail, I guess.

I'll come back later tonight and see what's going on.

PS: Here's a very cool article about the movie from the Houston Chronicle that Mike Mayer shared with us.

Re: Graduation

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Graduation test screening in LA on June 5 ::: You're invited!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Calling all Chris fans who live in or near Los Angeles! Mike Mayer, the director of Graduation, has extended an invite to Chris Marquette fans to join a test screening of the movie that will take place on June 5 at 7:30 PM in Los Angeles, CA. He said that they're looking for "younger fans", ideally ages 13-21.

Since this information only reached us tonight, we're sorry that it's all just a little short notice, but if you can and want to go, please e-mail us at the latest on Monday by early afternoon (EST) with your age, full name and contact details. These will have to be forwarded to Mike Mayer to get you passes into the production company's lot and get the directions to you. In case we receive a lot of feedback, please be aware that we'll be operating on a "first come, first served" basis.

Our e-mail address to write to is info@chris-marquette.com. Lastly, thanks go out to Mike for giving Chris fans this unique opportunity.

Hey guys,

For an independent film outside of the studio system, the fact that this process takes a long time is pretty normal. And actually, there are some details that are not quite done yet. The previous screenings (including what screened and got great reviews in Houston) were not the final release version. :-) We are still working out some music licensing and such, as well as a final sound mix scheduled for the beginning of October. Not that I am an official spokesman or anything. That I am not. But, things are progressing with final post on the film just fine. Thanks for your patience. We know you all are dying to see the finished product. It really is a great little film.

Brian

Re: Graduation

Yeah, but that's only to finalize the music.  Tell me guys, at anytime during all of this did anyone have the slightest inkling that the damn movie wasn't even finished yet?  Geez!  It could be another year before we see it at this rate.

Re: Graduation

No, I thought it was done and over with. I mean.... when did they shoot it? 2005? Did they run out of money or something? It could be two years until it goes to DVD and we get to see it (meaning Anne and me and all the other non-Americans).

Hey, uh, can we start a club? The "Chris Marquette Movie Review Club". We would get any Chris movie before anyone else and write up reviews about it. Now, who do we contact? wink

Re: Graduation

It's not up to "them" when it hits theatres.  If they ever finish it, they then have to find a distributor, which is what I thought all these screenings (yeah, all two of them) were about.  But, no, they're true test screenings.  Of an unfinished movie.  I'm sorry, but this just makes me nuts.

Maybe, maybe, maybe after Private Practice starts airing and Lowell becomes a huge TV star, something will happen.  Someone will want to pick the movie up.  I know they want it on big screens, but the longer it takes, the more it looks like straight-to-DVD will be the final disposition.

Man, this is just heartbreaking.  I asked Brian on the IMDb board if they were still tweaking the film itself, or just working on the music.  Maybe he'll give us some insight into that.

Re: Graduation

You know... by the time all these indies come out, all I'll do when it finally happens is yawn. Because by then I will probably have lost all zest for that movie. I can only keep up my enthusiasm that long. It has been hard with Fanboys, but at least with that movie we're being thrown tidbits every now and then. Brian, if you read this, the fans are getting restless, no matter how often we hear that the movie's gonna be fun and cool. Or maybe even because of that.

Re: Graduation

Exactly.

And at least with Fanboys there's light at the end of the tunnel.  We know roughly when it's going to come out.  We know everyone associated with it truly loves it.  We know that we might get some really cool goodies out of it when it finally comes.

What do we know about Graduation?  That Chris looks absolutely adorable and funny in it.  But we'll be lucky if we get to see it within another year.

I'm with you, TeeJay.  This update has just about sucked the last of any enthusiasm I had left for Graduation right out of me.  At this point, the only way Mike could win me back would be to send us a private DVD copy to "screen" for ourselves.  But the chances of that ever happening are absolutely zero.

Very friggin' sad.
