I think I read somewhere that there is more female nudity at a bar or something in the unrated edition.

I'll see if I can find out something about the Invisible DVD and let you know.

Oh, ok. Thanks. I could care less about the female nudity. I wouldn't mind if the scene in Chris/Eli's bedroom at the end had different wardrobe...

Un, no. Not gonna happen. LOL! Besides, tiny little Eli does not turn me on. Half-naked Keith in AD, yes. Half-naked Linus, hell yes! Scrawny Eli, heh, I'd crush him. And that is just not sessy.

Come to think of it, I can't really figure out what's so "bad" about the unrated version.

I searched all the DVD news sites I go to and couldn't find any info about an Unrated Edition of The Invisible, I even searched Circuit City and Walmarts sites and all they list is the standard DVD and the Blu-Ray editions.

I think the unrated version contains the scene with Danielle and Matthew on the limousine and they're "doing something", if you know what I mean. But I don't know for sure, I've never seen the rated version.

Illinois, we're getting The Invisible and The Girl Next Door mixed up here. TI was "extended", GND is unrated. But thanks for looking around for me. I don't buy that many DVDs and I don't know all the cool sites to go to like you do.

Well, it's not extended either.

dvdempire.com lists the running time as 98 minutes and a PG-13 rating.
Even amazon.com has the same running time.

OK, I guess this person posting on IMDb is just full of crap. They said the running time was listed as 111 min.

Just got the Sunday paper and all the Circuit City ad shows is the spine of the DVD.

For those that own it, does the spine of the Unrated DVD state that on the spine?

All the CC ad shows is the title in black letters against a white background. There is something right above the DVD logo on the spine, but it's too small to make out.

I guess I'll just have to check it out at the store tomorrow morning.

A couple of weeks ago they had Van Wilder on sale for $4.99 as well. In the bin they had the 2 disc Unrated Edition. I went and paid for it and she said it wasn't on sale. I told her that they had several in the bin, and after talking to the manager she let me have it for the sale price. So I saved $10 on that one.

The unrated DVD does not say it is on the spine. Only on the front cover.

Maybe we shouldn't talk about the TI DVD in the GND thread! (But if there is an extended or unrated or whatever Special DVD of TI, I maybe going to buy it or at least rent it to see the movie finally. )

Me neither. Maybe there are a few people who don't like that one deleted scene with Matthew and Danielle, but I don't mind it. It's not that you see something there. But maybe that's a German thing. We have scenes like that on TV all the time.

Boy did Circuit City get me mad today.

I went to the closest one to me, which is about 5 miles away. I went right when they opened up. Now usually they have what's on sale in some wooden bins. Well today they didn't have the bins out at all. So I went and looked in the DVD aisle and they didn't have about 90% of what's listed in the ad on the shelves. I walked out and went to the Best Buy across the street. I wasn't sure if they would price match since it's a bundled deal, but they did.

So I bought the following at Best Buy:
2 for $15
The Girl Next Door: Unrated Version
Just Like Heaven

$4.99 each:
Zoolander
The Italian Job
Mission: Impossible

Then I went to Walmart and they have some TV on DVD sets for $19.99 each, so I bought Stargate SG1: Season 1.

I think I'm going to contact Circuit City and complain about that. In my mind if a sale begins on a certain day, then you should have those items already out on display. Makes me want to not shop there anymore.

Circuit City's always annoyed me... up near me as soon as you walk in the door the sales people are all over you, then you finally get them to leave you alone... but when you actually need them, no one is around to help you.

Very annoying, Illinois. Target pulled a similar bait & switch with the second season Joan Of Arcadia set. I walked out on them too.

Just watched it. Very good film.

I was sort of expecting an American Pie film, but I got a film that was sort of like Risky Business. It was funny without being vulgar like the American Pie films. Not that I don't like the American Pie films, I do, but this one had a little more heart to it. I like how Emile's character was just after the "girl next door" like most teenage boys would be, but after getting to know her on a personal level he started to care about her.

Chris was funny. Really funny how he was always talking about f***ing. One of my favorite scenes was when he was fencing and hit the other guy.

I will say that they both look much younger than I expected. Of course the only other film I saw them in was Alpha Dog, but that makes sense since this was filmed a few years before AD.

I will say that they both did very well.

I really like the "twist" ending where you think he was making a certain type of film, but it turned out to be something different.

I glanced through the extras. The "Eli Experience" was funny.

Overall a good film. Right up there with Risky Business.

this film rocked and Chris's character Eli basically made it funny! Without Eli and Chris's acting talent behind Eli this movie would have been pretty lame. Some of the lines Chris had were classic! "Dude, what channel are you watching?" "I just wana bang hot chicks" and at the very end when someone asked him isnt he a bit young to be directing movies and he just yells "Shut the f*ck up, next question!" hehe. Klitz was kinda funny too but Paul Dano (the actor who plays Klitz) is better in a seriousl role, like Little Miss Sunshine, Paul was fab in that! Although when Eli and Klitz are running away from that wrestler dude and jump into the cake i laughed sooo hard hehe.
The main character Mathew was not funny and a bit too serious for this film. It was kind of like the actor who played Mathew has a stick up his ass haha.
