Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself!

My name is Samantha, I'm turning 17 in April and I live in Canada.

I did see Freddy vs. Jason- horrible movie, but I don't remember seeing Chris in it, but I'm sure he brought it up to a higher level.

I haven't seen him in anything but Joan of Arcadia.  I never watched it on the air, I should have, but have both seasons and now I am 120% hooked on the show!  Adam by far is one of my favourite characters.  Chris plays him brilliantly.

What other things should I see Chris in?

I was actually introduced to this site by someone from imdb, and I am certainly glad she told me off this site!

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hey Samantha,

Welcome to our little corner of the web!  Glad you made the leap.  What else should you see Chris in?  There's a lot of stuff.  In the filmography here on the site, just click on the titles and we will tell you exactly what we thought of his other stuff. We're still building, but most of the important stuff has our opinions.

But I would suggest you finish up your JoA eps first.  Because honestly, we all fell in love with him on that show and we're all still really devoted to that character.  He's just so unique and adorable and special.  After you've seen Adam in all his glory, then you will enjoy Miracles and Huff and Strong Medicine and The Girl Next Door and Just Friends and American Gun all that much more.  We have clips from all that stuff in our media section too, so you can sample it for free.

We're just chock full of goodies.  Oh, and if you wanna see the stuff about Chris's mom that I mentioned on the other board, check out the thread "Dudes..." on the About Chris board.  She sent us personal pictures and everything.

One thing to remember about our message baord is that it's jam packed with pics --- some of them very exclusive.  Our two Fanboys threads have stuff that nobody else has published, but we have permission to do so from the director himself, whom we also interviewed in October.

Main thing, have fun!

Hope to see you posting your thoughts as you go along on your journey of discovery in the Joaniverse.  smile

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hey, Samantha, glad to have you with us. I can only agree to what Deb said. You can go through the filmography and then decide what you might want to see Chris in. We have so many clips in the Media section, so you can maybe watch a few of them and then take your pick if you maybe wanna rent some DVDs. Not that there are a lot, but I would most definitely recommend The Tic Code, Girl Next Door and American Gun. As for TV stuff, the Huff guest role is definitely worth a shot. We have clips of that too. Oh, and the Miracles episode he did is just heart-wrenchingly brilliant. My favorite performance to date.

And since you live in Canada, Alpha Dog just came out there as well yesterday, didn't it? Deb can tell you more about it, since she's already seen it. Chris's role may not be big in it, but from what I hear, it's certainly memorable and the movie itself should be quite good and intense. You should also check out The Invisible in the theater, hopefully in April this year.

Hope to see you around and spark many discussions. We can be a little silly sometimes, but that's half the fun of hanging out here on this board. smile

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hey Samantha, welcome to the boards.
I second what TeeJay said, I'd suggest you to watch American Gun, The Girl Next Door and The Tic Code.
So Adam is your favorite role so far? So if you wanna see him play a totally different role, check out the Huff clips on our website - that's totally Anti-Adam. LOL But he does a great job there, too.

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hey everyone, I'm Kerrie, i'm from Dublin, Ireland.
I first saw Chris and immediatley liked him in his heartbreaking scene in Strong Medicine episode "Trauma", where he tries to beat up the man who raped his mother, very sad stuff sad
Then i forgot about him for a couple of years and then along came Joan Of Arcadia, I immediatley grew attached to the character of Adam Rove, and Chris played him excellelently. At first you think he's a drug addict but he's not, he's just all dark and mysterious because his mum killed herself. When Joans mum read out the letter to Adam it was sooo sad sad
And even when Adam cheated on Joan, I still felt bad for Adam for some reason lol. Ya just gotta love him!

Anyway back to he point:
Then after seeing THe Girl Next Door, I thought, omg is there nothing Chris can't do haha.
I just wanted to say how impressed I am with Chris after seeing his demo reel that you put together
and a couple of his interviews. Firstly, i think it is absolutley brilliant
how he can play a really a emotional character and then play a comedy role with slapstick and funny facial expressions too (I have never laughed more at a movie then at "Just Friends") It shows real talent to be able to play two completley opposite types of roles and he is fabulous at them both. The other thing that impressed me is that he was so
down to earth and friendly in his interviews, and he's very good at answering
questions he's given. Some actors when giving interviews ramble a bit and
obviously are making it up as they go along but Chris obviously takes his
roles very seriously and does the research and can answer a question with
accurate and indepth information. WELL DONE CHRIS!

Re: Hi Everyone!

Hey Kerrie,

Wonderful to see you here and to score another European. smile You might know that I'm German myself. And I've been to Dublin this year in May and loved it. I'd love to go back some day and/or see more of Ireland. Thanks for joining the message board, I hope you come back often and talk with us about Chris and whatever else is on your mind.

Re: Hi Everyone!

Kerrie probably hasn't even seen our full extent of crazy. smile There hasn't been anything lately to get crazy about, but with any luck there will be before long. I'm holding my breath. Until I get blue in the face and drop.

No worries!  I'm supposed to be moving by the end of the month and I don't think I'm gonna make it.  I need to turn my computer off.  It's not gonna happen, though.

Thanks so much, Laura!
