Dude, you don't really have to. Don't ask me how I found it in my bed.

I swear, I belong in medical books. My knee's all swollen and bruised and I didn't do anything to it :clueless:

Root canal! I won a root canal treatment! Yay! \o/
Hm... wait, wrong reaction. I just had my tooth drilled into and some sort of ointment poured into the root canal to make the infection go away. This is the right moment to thank God for anaesthetic and painkillers. I'm sure I'll be less enthusiastic about it in about two hours when the anaesthesia wears off. But at least I hope that takes care of the constant tooth aches in the long run.

Wow! Your first root canal. Sniff. (They grow up so fast). Seriously, I've only had one and that was plenty. I don't think there was a lot of post-pain. But having it done was pretty uncomfortable. Maybe because it was a back tooth.
But the good news is that THAT tooth shouldn't ever bother you again.

LOL! I'm doing remarkably okay, actually. Took an ibuprofen earlier, and either that's still going or things are already calming down up my root canal. Or both. Mine is also a back tooth. Tooth no. 25, actually (the fifth in my left upper jaw). The drilling wasn't all that uncomfortable. It hurt a little here and there when the doc was getting close to the nerve, but nothing that I couldn't tolerate. But it's not all over and done with, I believe I have at least two more trips to make to the dentist's before the nerve is all dead and everything has been fixed up with a proper filling.
And you're right, that tooth shouldn't bother me again. But then they say that when the tooth is dead, it's less resilient and might become more brittle over the years. Oh well... For now I'd rather have a brittle tooth that doesn't actually hurt.

There's a reason I hated high school and couldn't wait to get to college. But I made the mistake of choosing to go to the same school as half the kids I went to high school with. I actually want to go to class so I won't have to sit in the computer lab anymore :fedup::angry:

Okay, I had absolutely no idea what a root canal is, but since I read the word tooth in Tina's post I guess I just learned the word for "Wurzelbehandlung". LOL

I've heard them say that, too, about the tooth's structure becomming weaker. It's been amost five years and right this minute I'm not even sure which tooth it is anymore.
"Wurzelbehandlung" looks like it'd be either a lung or hand ailment, rather than something to do with teeth.

Wurzel means root. There is a Handwurzel in German too, it's got something to do with the wrist. But a Wurzelbehandlung is something tooth specific. And you pronounce it "voortsel".

You probably have to know Demetri to "get" it. He's got this really dry sense of humor that I love. You really need me to explain the thing?
