Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

This guest role deserves its own thread because I just love it and Chris in it. It's that tortured thing he does so well. But what I really wanna say: I ordered the DVD box last night. They reduced it from €45 to €30, so I couldn't resist. And it's being shipped from Sweden, so no customs fees. Don't know when I'll get it, might be two or so weeks. But I can't wait! Finally screencaps and vidcaps in good quality!

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

I loved the episode, and Chris was perfectly cast.  TeeJay, I'm pretty sure you'll like the whole series.  I'd say "The Bone Scatterer" is a pretty good representation of it.  Some of the episodes explored various urban myths and legends.  It's similar to Supernatural in some respects, and that's a good thing!

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

I felt it was a little similar to The X-Files, in terms of a group of people investigating supernatural phenomena. It's probably like The X-Files without the government conspiracies, right? Yeah, I'm pretty sure I'll like the show too. Not sure when I'll have the time to actually watch it, but I know which ep I will watch right away. I'm looking forward to the others too, though.

I think I need to watch this episode again ... I actually considered watching it earlier today, but I ended up with watching The Gift ... I needed some JoA fix, I wasn't able to watch JoA for ages.

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

Yeah, I did. It was actually really cool. Did I ever tell you how much I love the conversation Joan is having with her parents after she returned from the hotel? big_smile

Will - You don't have any school books. So what were you doing in a hotel room with Adam and no books?
Joan - Do we really have to go there?
Will - We're already there.
Joan - Do you really think--
Helen - what do you *think* we think?
Will - Of course we think! What would you think?
Joan - Is this a real conversation or an Abbott and Costello routine?
Will - Answer the question.
Joan- (Opens her mouth to speak)
Will - No, wait. Don't.
LOL!!!

I just love Joe Mantegna in this scene. Especially here:
Will - And he was shampooing the rug. I'm a cop, Joan. This is when I start reading you your rights.

It makes me giggle a lot every time I watch it. wink

But this is the Miracles thread, maybe we should continue this discussion in the JoA Section. wink

LOL.  Yeah, I love that too, Anne.  As for Miracles, I watched it when it was on, but I don't remember much about it.  Looking forward to seeing it again someday.

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

Mmmmh ... I could actually watch it tomorrow night. I had to skip CSI:NY today, because I wanted to watch a German show, so I'll catch the rerun tomorrow after GA. Well, it's actually the day after tomorrow because it's starting 20 minutes after midnight, so it's Wednesday. This is going to be a long night for me ...

This is kinda OT, but Sprague and Skeet finally kissed on Jericho.  It was so sweet!

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

Aw, I missed it!  I've got the episode on tape, just haven't watched it yet.  Wednesday is turning into my busiest TV night.  Jericho and Bones at 8:00, Lost and Criminal Minds at 9:00, and later this month, Medium at 10:00.  Since Jericho and Criminal Minds air on the same station, it's easier to stick a tape in and let it run upstairs while we watch the other shows downstairs.  'Cause there's no way I'm gonna wait and watch Lost later.  lol

To get back on topic, not only was Chris perfectly cast in "The Bone Scatterer" but it's also one of the most satisfying hours of TV I've ever seen.  Coolness.  I do miss Miracles, though in a way I'm glad it ended while it was still a really good show, instead of having to settle for a real decline in quality.

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

I got the Miracles DVD box today. And of course I had to make new screencaps right away:

There are nuances I saw when I made them that I hadn't picked up before. Wow.

I love this episode, I love Chris in it. And it's just amazing that I can now watch it in brilliant quality in Dolby Digital. I'm a very happy camper today. smile

It certainly is a must see!  Shrams, did you listen to the soundclip of Chris where we told him about our favorite roles?  It was so cute when we mentioned Miracles.  It was like he couldn't believe it.

Yeah, that is a great shot. Maybe because of the hair, Deb? As for the Chris shots, I just love this one:

But as for the overall atmosphere/episode shots, I have fallen in love with this beautiful Travis/Paul scene:

Nice shots. Yeah, I love that Travis/Paul scene too. Probably my favorite scene from the whole episode.

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

It's not just the hair.  It's everything.  His expression, the black eye.  I don't know.  I just really like it.  Poor Travis.

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

Since I've been watching my Miracles box set and I've seen two episodes of Jericho when I was in Atlanta, I quickly need to say a few words about Skeet Ulrich. He's great, I really like him. I watched this one episode two nights ago where he became possessed by some dark force mysterious paranormal thingy and turns from the nice, soft-spoken, sensitive man to a really bullying, bad-ass, mean type who drinks and smokes. Wow. What a change in character. And Skeet did a wonderful job during all of it. I have to admit I like the nice Paul much better than the hard-ass one. I'm sure he's great in Jericho as well. I wish I could watch the show, but I watch way too many shows already, so I don't wanna start another one.

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

As a matter of fact, he was great just this week.  Jake had to get a little mean when Gray and the other guys were gonna kill Jonah.  It was really intense.  He's a great actor.  Also very deft at light and screwball comedy.  I highly recommend the movies Touch and Nobody's Baby, if you wanna see him do funny.

Re: Miracles - episode "The Bone Scatterer"

Yeah, I have to agree on the Skeet love.  That episode where he's possessed is really difficult to watch, because Skeet is just too convincing.  Now that Jericho is taking a break, I might have to start watching Miracles again.  Though that would have to come after I finish Season 1 of Supernatural, and Season 2 of JoA.  And the 1985 Twilight Zone series.  And Grey's Anatomy Season 2.  And both seasons of Dark Angel, when they arrive.

It's not even Christmas, and I already have a huge backlog of stuff to watch!  Not that I'm complaining, I just wish I had enough hours in the day to keep up with all my fandoms.

I agree that Touched is worth seeing.  It's been a few years, so I should refresh my memory on that one, but I remember I liked it, though it's very strange.

I haven't listened to any of the Chris soundslips yet; see above.  It should be fun to hear, though!  I'm working 7 hours a day now, and should start working 8 in January, but possibly before that.  I need the money, and I still enjoy the job, though it's getting more stressful all the time.  It's really cut down on my fannish time, which is annoying, but necessary.
