Today I stayed at work until 7pm and was home at 9pm.
Well, I wouldn't mind the overtime if I would live nearby. But I am still stuck in this stupid hicktown where the busses only go until 5pm and then there is nothing. So I had to go by train which took me two hours.
I found a nice apartment nearby and I was hoping that the owner would call me today, but they didn't. I hope the'll call tomorrow. I need that apartment!

Yeah, welcome to the world of apartment seeking. It's like that sometimes. The places that sound great turn out to be dump holes and the place you really want will be given to someone else or are so expensive that you can't afford them. But there's gonna be the day where something good comes along and you'll be the one to get it. Hope you find something soon. Don't give up!

Yeah, but ice storms suck because they always break power lines and we lose power and have to go camp out at other people's houses because we have no heat. I'm sure you've had to do that before, right Mel? Have you always lived in the Athens area? I've always lived in the Atlanta area. And I've been through some really harsh ice storm crap.

I will admit that the one in '93 was cool. My best friend Steph and I were roommates and we lost power in our apartment so we stayed with her brother Tim. Me, Lacey, Steph, Tim, his wife Millie and their dog, Sensi all huddled up in their nice, warm apartment with plenty to eat and drink. And it was over a weekend so it was kinda like a party.

I don't mind being snowed or iced in as long as I've got food and drink and all the basic necessities. Also wouldn't mind a day off work. Thing is, I can work from home well enough so I wouldn't be off the hook. I know I'd have to do that. In fact, I suspect that even if I was out sick, I might be expected to still check my voice and email and do whatever I could remotely.

Well, it's small, but it has a separated kitchen and a bathroom with a bath tub!
The newspaper said it was a one and a half room apartment, but it looks more like one room. But it's great anyway. I already decided that I am going to take it when I was there. The owners are nice and they know it already, but they said I can call them tomorrow night to tell them my final decision. I am going to take it. For the very first apartment it's great. Of course I would have liked a two room apartment but there is no way that I can afford that right now. But I'm still happy. The apartment is in good shape, so I don't have to renovate or paint it. I mean, I would like to paint it, but for now I need the money somewhere elso, so the paint for the walls has to wait.
I just have to decide know, when I will rent it. I think Dec 15 would be perfect because I'll get my money on the 10th every month. Plus I could movie in between Christmas and New Year's Eve, when the company is on holidays. I'm so exited now!

I think I have a good idea what kind of apartment you're talking about. I almost rented one like that once. I used to want to live in Little Five Points. And it's really expensive down there. I looked at a "studio" apartment there that I could afford and I would've taken it except it was not wired for cable and the landlord had no intention of fitting it with access. I can't live without TV so I passed. But I always wished it could've worked out. My life would've been very different if I'd moved to L5P in my 20's.

Bet you can't wait to be on your own, huh?
