Re: Randomness

I certainly know what that's like.  I still dream about Lacey almost every night and still cry every time I think about how much I miss her.

Re: Randomness

Yeah, I know.
Well, Elvis was an old dog. When they got him, the vet said he had cancer and wouldn't make it until the next year. He gave him three months. And then Elvis lived SEVEN YEARS with my brother's girlfriend and her mom. 7 Years! At one point, the vet even told them the cancer was gone. But a few months ago he started having pain and became incontinent. They had to face the day to put him to sleep. I just didn't think that it would come so fast. He was such a lovely dog, even though his breath stank. wink But I never met a dog like him. He loved everybody. I will miss him very much.

Oh, and by the way, at the moment we have my other brother's cat here, since he's flying to Cameroon tomorrow. She's still shy and she misses Alex, but I think she'll get used to us soon. At least I hope so. I'll post some photos soon.

Re: Randomness

As of five minutes ago, I am officially on Christmas vacation!!!! I just finished wrapping up the last reports I had to write. Yay! No more work for the rest of the year! :dancing:

On Wednesday afternoon I'm off to the UK to visit my friend Freddie and her husband Jos (pronounced Yoss) for a few days. I'm looking forward to that like crazy. And I really need it. I've been working 10 to 12 hours almost every day for the last, oh, three or four weeks. It's about time that stopped. Next year should be a little more relaxed, at least when we've finally shipped off our files to the archive in England. Double-yay! Now let's just hope that this new project I'm involved in finally starts running smoothly next year. It's been a constant up and down so far...

But it's time I stopped thinking about that. At least until Jan 2, that's when I'm going back to work. Now, where's the champagne?

Re: Randomness

Wow. Hope you'll be okay. It's been quite cold this weekend here too, but not all that cold. We've had frost overnight, but no snow yet. We used to have tons of snow in the winter when I was a kid. Now all we get is maybe an inch that doesn't stay for more than a week. But I'm not really complaining, I prefer the roads free of snow when I'm driving.

Re: Randomness

You did? Oh. Oops.

Haha, joke. Of course I didn't open the presents yet. But I can't wait! I have the feeling that the pictures I should pick are involved here somewhere. big_smile
And I feel sorry that I can't give you anything for Chris*tmas this year, but almost all of the money from my first paycheck is already gone and with the rest I need to buy things for my new apartment I really need. I can't give Christmas presents to anybody this year, that kinda sucks. sad
But well, there is still your birthday. smile

Re: Randomness

Hey, don't worry about presents. I love giving. Of course receiving is nice, but it's okay since I know you need all your doe to spend on the new apartment. Maybe next year. smile

Truer words were never spoken. Or how do you say that again? wink

I think I am getting sick. My nose is running all the time. Great. roll
On the other hand - only three more days to work until I am going on my first vacation! Although it won't be a "vacation" because I'll be busy with moving. LOL big_smile

Re: Randomness

Wow.  The US Post Office is slower than I thought.   It was just on the news that a woman from just recieved a Christmas card... 93 years late.   There was a penny stamp on it.

Re: Randomness

The US PO took almost three weeks to deliver my package to Tisha... And it was AIR mail! But then again, a package from Italy to Germany took three weeks too....

Re: Randomness

Yeah, when my friend lived in Germany, I had to mail her and her family's Christmas gifts a month early and she still got it late.  But then, she was a military wife and the package went through six days of security before it got to them.
