Re: Lost

Good news for Lost fans...

ABC Takes Wraps Off Mid-Season

ABC announced a new strike-affected midseason schedule on Friday. The most prominent change is the return of Lost on January 31, a Thursday. The show will air at 9:00 p.m., the time period ordinarily occupied by the network's biggest hit on that night, Grey's Anatomy. The problem that the network faces is that while it has eight new episodes of Lost ready to roll, it has only one episode of Anatomy -- thus, the decision to move Lost from its usual Wednesday time period. ABC also announced plans to premiere its drama Cashmere Mafia on Thursday, Jan. 3, before moving the show to Wednesdays at 10:00 p.m. Only eight episodes were completed before the strike.

Re: Lost

That's good. Not so good that there's not gonna be new GA for a while. Is there even any movement with the strike? Can we expect anyone to write anything before February or March?? At least the good thing is that I won't have to worry about missing any of my shows in January since I'll probably be without internet at home for two or three weeks.

Re: Lost

No progress reported so far, but as I said in the GA thread, the WGA has decided to try to make deals with individual studios and networks so some shows may go back into production if anything comes from that strategy.  No one's ever tried that before though, so no one knows if it's even possible.

Re: Lost

Okay, so who watched last week's episode? I can't figure out what's going on, but seeing how this is Lost, that's not so surprising, is it? Someone told me he'd heard that this is gonna be Lost's last season and they'll be wrapping things up. Is that actually true? Kinda looked like they might.

I always loved Jack as a character, despicable as sometimes he was. However, I'm not sure what to make of him after this episode. But I was glad to see Dominic back, even though it was just one scene. Hope he's gonna return somewhere down the road again.

Re: Lost

From what I've heard, Lost is signed on for 2 more seasons after this one--unless something has recently been changed.

I finally got to watch the premiere today before the Superbowl and I thought it was really interesting. Hurley mentioned that he was one of the Oceanic 6. So we know Hurley, Kate, and Jack all get off the island, but who are the other 3 including the one in the coffin from last season?
I'm like you Tina, still really confused about things and I can't wait to see what unfolds in this season.

Re: Lost

I hate it when they try to lead you into believing that someone who speaks German is actually German, just because the majority of Americans can't tell. That German lady on Lost, she wasn't a native German speaker. While her German was very good, she still had an accent. Guess they couldn't find a native speaker who still looked attractive enough for the role. tongue And they didn't shoot that one outside Berlin scene in Berlin, did they? I tried to look for license plates, see if they looked genuinely German, but I couldn't see any close enough. So, yeah, I'm nitpicky like that. Ruins the illusion for me when things don't feel genuine.

Other than that, what the hell?? (Spoilers for episode 4x03 to follow!) So now they're gonna do flashforwards instead of flashbacks for the rest of the season? I'm not sure I like where this is going. Wonder what's with that time shift. And will Sayid and Desmond really make it off the island?

Re: Lost

I'm quite certain that a production that already has the expense of shooting in Hawaii and Los Angeles didn't go so far as to actually shoot in Berlin.  But you never know.  I love this new season. I love how it has opened up.  I like a couple of the new characters.  I love that nobody's siting in a cage for ep after ep after ep. I love the snappy dialog in ep two.  I love Sayid's hair all straight and silky-looking.  I'm having a great time.  I even love the new logo for the show, with the Island mountains on top and the LA skyline reflected in the ocean.  I hope it stays wide open like this.

Last words of tonight's ep were... yikes

Next week, I bet we finally learn that the survivors have been in a parallel universe.  My theory anyway.  tongue

Re: Lost

Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense, does it? Jack has seen the baby before. Why would she want him to see it if it wasn't his? And if it is his, why would she name it Aaron? Of course it could be that Claire's Aaron somehow died and Kate named her baby in honor of him. I'm not gonna keep trying to make educated guesses about anything that goes on on this show. You always end up being wrong anyway. wink

And where'd Sayid and the others go? I couldn't understand what they said when they were talking about the helicopter on the phone. What did the woman on the boat say about the copter? That it never got there? Or that it never left the boat? Does anyone recall?

Re: Lost

It 's Claire's Aaron.  Something will happen where either she dies, or begs Kate to take him back to the real world because the island has become too dangerous or she learns the truth and wants him out --- maybe before the wormhole collapses or something taking away their last chance for escape.

And the chopper didn't reach the boat because the pilot couldn't follow the exact trajectory as he was told to do.  So they couldn't go through the wormhole back into the other universe that they live in where there were NO survivors of Oceanic 815 because it crashed in the water and everyone drowned.

Back in LA in that world, everyone is so secretive because they can't reveal that they came from a different universe where there was 48 survivors, who all get left behind except for the Oceanic Six.  That's why they feel so guilty.  They left all the others behind.  And that's why Ben is having Sayid kill people in the LA universe.  He can't let the secret get out that Dharma has figured out how to manipulate the wormholes and travel from one universe to another one.  Their existence on the island was to study the possibility of living in an alternate universe.

That's my theory anyway.

Sean, what do YOU think is really going on this year?
