I feel so disconnected.
Me too! :crying:
I hope I'll get a decent internet connection soon. The thing is, all the providers had special offers until New Years Eve, but I don't think I can afford internet until February or even March. I still don't have all of the furniture stuff I need. Moving into your first own household is expensive!

There's always gonna be one offer or another, even in March. Do some online research at your parents' place when the time is right to pick a provider. Are you not gonna get a phone installed there right away either? Because it would be a waste of money to first have the phone line activated (probably with Deutsche Telekom, right?), pay a set-up fee of 60 EUR (or whatever they charge these days) for that and then decide to switch to another provider after two or three months. Almost all DSL providers offer DSL only with a built-in phone flatrate these days, I think.
One of the main reasons I went with T-Online is that the Telekom is the only provider in Germany left who allows pre-dial call-by-call numbers.

I am doing that.

That's what I want. I want a phone and wireless internet package. At the moment I am thinking about going to Alice, but I'll wait until February or March. I'll be still with my parents on weekends, though, so you are not completely losing me.

Haha, then we'll completely miss each other. I'll be online mostly during the week, you'll be online mostly on the weekends. I'll miss you! May February or March bring a high speed internet connection for all of us.

Well, there is always this thing called email, which works during the week and the weekends. And maybe I can take a peek into the forum from work from time to time. I just shouldn't do it that often.

So I am still with my parents today. We went to IKEA yesterday to buy some stuff I still need and when we were finished and wanted to drive home, my dad's car broke. So I'll only have the weekend to get comfortable in my new home before I have to go back to work on Monday.

Well, at least you're still online at your parents' place.

Okay, not sure how long my internet connection will still work, so I'm saying a sort of goodbye for a while. Like I said, I will be checking my e-mail and the board sporadically at work, but I won't be online and participating as much as I usually do.
I will miss all of you guys!

Bye, TeeJay. It's awful not being able to check in as often as you want to. Hope it's mercifully brief.

I hope your connection starts working like normal soon, TJ. We'll all miss you!!!

Thanks. :embarrassed: But I'm not completely gone. I took my laptop to work today and I'll be checking in. It's really strange to be home and not be able to go online whenever you want to. It's kinda sad how much I depend on the internet these days. You get so used to having all this information at your disposal.
Now let me go look what I've missed this weekend.

That's good, TJ. I'm in love with the internet lol, except rude people I come across.

The internet is great. I've seen people with PDAs/iPhones/whatever and I really want one- and I don't even like and care for phones! I just like being connected all the time. I hope there's going to be virtual cafes some day.

Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

If I could afford it, I would totally have some gadget that would keep me online all the time. I'm not a gadget girl, but I am addicted to the Internet.

I too suffer from Internet addiction. It's the main reason why I want an iPhone, so I can carry the Internet around in my pocket. Well, that and the fact that they're sexy little gadgets.

I agree, Brenna. ; )

I bet iPhones will go down since technology constantly changes. I cannot wait! It'll be a lot better than what I have right now (though it beats the Zack Morris phone and this old school, fat phone I had 'till I was a graduating senior):
I just need a phone that have a camera, allow me to have audios as my ring tones (without costing anything) and the internet- the perfect phone ever!

Just got a call from the Telekom support guys. Apparently I'll have my internet at home back on Jan 19. Let's see... It might be that my modem and WLAN router can't be used with a DSL 16000 connection, even though I did all the firmware updates. If that's the case, I might have to wait until Monday to get a new modem and get everything fixed up. But I'm hoping things'll go smoothly.

I'm back at my parents for the weekend. The first week at work wasn't exactly great, but it wasn't bad either. Something with my laptop went wrong and I hope to find a solution now, since I can go online again. I missed being able to go online every day, but I see nobody seem to have missed me here.
