Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

If you're interesteed in learning more about the character Chris will play, you can read Ron Haeberle's testimony at Calley's courtmartial here:

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

Another tidbit:

As the third platoon moved into My Lai, it was followed by army photographer Ronald Haeberle, there to document what was supposed to be a significant encounter with a crack enemy battalion.  Haeberle took many pictures.  He said he saw about thirty different GIs kill about 100 civilians.  Once Haeberle focused his camera on a young child about five feet away, but before he could get his picture the kid was blown away.  He angered some GIs as he tried to photograph them as they fondled the breasts of a fifteen-year-old Vietnamese girl.

Use discretion looking at the pics in this link.  They're brutal.  So are Haeberle's comments:

Yeah, Doree, let's start there.  Let's get the damn thing made, then we'll worry about release.

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

Wow, thanks for posting the links, Deb. This movie and story need to be made and told!

Joan: "Wow. I always thought you'd hate me if I was a cheerleader."
Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

I hope it won't be a small budget independent film. Then it will probably have only special screenings. It needs to be made big!!

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

And I bet it wouldn't even come to Germany, except maybe for some Film Festivals I don't know about or too far away from me. This movie needs international release if it's going to be made.

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

Oh, I'm quite sure it'll come to Germany. They may not show it in English, but I think there's a good chance that they will. And if the movie stays with United Artists, it won't be an independent production, right?

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

I know. I'm definitely going to see it in English of course. I really hope it's not going to be independent, because independent movies hardly make it to Germany. Which is sad because I just did a little research about the character Chris is supposed to play and that sounds very interesting.
I think I am going to check every little theater I can find around here if they're going to show it in English once it's out. LOL

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

Actually, Steff told me that there's a cinema near Stuttgart somewhere that shows English movies only. She was living with her grandma in Pforzheim for a while and she's an English nut too. But apparently it's outside of the city. Want me to ask where exactly it is?

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

Really? Cool! Sometimes when I check kino.de I see that the bigger cinema (I forgot the name, maybe it's the Cinemaxx or the UFA, I don't remember right now) is showing undubbed movies too, but they don't do that always. But well, since I have a regular income now I can hopefully go to the cinema more often. I just need to find the right opportunity to get there, the S-Bahn isn't always really relieable. Yes, please ask Steff where exactly it is, so I can check out how to get there.

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

I think this is the one. It came up when I Googled "kino originalversion stuttgart". http://www.corso-kino.de Must be ultra-small, says they only have two screens. But I've asked Steff by e-mail, I'll let you know when she replies.

No, not at the moment.  The ad was bogus.  Nobody in the Marquette camp knows anything about it.

Re: Oliver Stone's Pinkville

I figure it was because of the dang dates. I just got confused since you mentioned Terry (no idea who he is) was an extra on Nerds, so I assumed the ad to be semi-legit at least, unless his account got hacked or so. I want the movie!
