Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

Ah yeah, I checked her forum. I knew I was mixing it up somehow, sorry. LOL I totally lost track of all her project since I was unable to follow them last week. I need to get internet at my new place soon!

Here is the trailer for another Kristen Bell movie, "Forgetting Sarah Marshall". Just found it on Youtube.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

FYI, if you're looking to find information on the Hallmark Hall of Fame production "The Russell Girl" airing this Sunday, January 27, some of the reviews (most notably one in Catholic Online) contain humongous spoilers.  If you don't want the whole thing given away, steer clear of the online reviews.

Here is a nice article from Hallmark's website that doesn't give too much away.  It includes comments by Amber about the movie and her character.

Cool, Carol.  Thanks!

Hey, Janine Turner's on Law & Order: SVU tonight!  Haven't seen her in ages.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

There was just a promo for "Definitely, Maybe" on TV.  Ryan Reynolds is in it with Abigail Breslin, he plays her father and is going through a divorce with her mom.  It looks really cute.

Yeah, I've seen that.  Probably wouldn't pay to see it in the theatre, but I'd like to see it.

I actually watched the trailer on apple.com the other day. And I agree, it looks really cute. If it's on over here in English, I'd definitely go watch it.

He didn't really work with her per se, but I saw Little Girl God on Hannah Montana the other day, haha.

Joan: "Wow. I always thought you'd hate me if I was a cheerleader."
Adam: "No way. Why?
Joan: "Because we're subdefectives and it'd be like deserting the army or something."
Adam: "Oh, no. I don't care if you're a cheerleader, subdefective, or whatever. I just like hanging out with you because.. you're Jane."

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I misunderstood you Soph.  That's really cool.  JoA cast-offs were on Veronica Mars all the time.  Little Girl God once played a girl with a crush on Veronica's ex.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

What do you mean, you "misunderstood me"? ;/

I never watched "Veronica Mars," but that's cool! I was hoping she'd get more acting jobs because she seems pretty cool.

Something I wrote before that I deleted, I thought you were talking about Abigail Breslin from "Definitely, Maybe" and you were correcting me saying she never worked with him... I have to learn to read through posts too, I guess.

Oooooh, hahaha! Nah, I was just inserting a new "fact." I do think Abigail is quite fabulous! She's an adorable, talented young lady.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

She's always amazing, and this was no exception.  She is capable of such subtlety, when lesser performers might be tempted to overact.  In situations highly frought with drama you can see her character struggling to hold herself together, like real people would.  I really hope we see a lot more of her (and the other fantastic JoA alums, too) in the near future.  I miss her!

It looks like from IMDB that she's got three projects (including the sequel to TSotTP) that are in the post-production phase.  Hopefully they'll be released one of these days.

Was "Spiral" ever released theatrically?  The trailer looked really interesting (and scary yikes), but I never heard anything about it after that.

I'm a little slow, but I just found out that Joe Montegna had joined the cast of Criminal Minds.  I hadn't watched the show all season because I'd heard that Mandy Patinkin had bailed, or was about to bail on the show (as Mandy Patinkin seems to have a tendency to do wink:(), but JM is great in the role.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

I'm a little late on this... I thought it was totally amazing.  I really don't think it's possible for Amber to make a movie that doesn't haunt me.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

So it's worth downloading (if I can find it)? The review I read sounded like you shouldn't bother. But then again, I have an incentive as I really do like Amber.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

If you can't find it for download, there is another way.  And I don't care what anybody says, that was a really great performance in a very good movie.  Definitely worth watching.  And if you watch it like I did, with the newest Chris pic up on your computer monitor, so you can look back and forth between them, it's even more fun.  wink

Carol and I kinda watched it "together".  We had a chat window open and talked during the commercials and we even noticed a couple of subtle Butterflies parallels.

Re: In Praise of Chris's Colleagues

The Russell Girl was truly heartbreaking. When she was out on the streets, I was totally expecting the person in the boots to be Evan; I'm glad it was Lorainne. I knew she'd be the first one Sarah would tell about her Leukemia, so I was glad they had moments together so that she can be "forgiven" about what happened. Amber's just so awesome. I love her style.
