I've been talking to a couple of people in the cmg LiveJournal community about our website, and unbelievably, there are still people alive there. They refuse to come over here, so I thought I'd paste a couple of nice things they said about the site:

i love the site! there is so much stuff on it! i could spend hours exploring it, and i'm sure i will! the joan of aracadia fanfiction was amazing as well! i can't remember who wrote it, but "The Haircut" made me cry! i love joan/adam so so so much!

i am so incredibly jealous that you got to meet him!!! you have no idea! i just American Gun the other day and that totally killed me...most depressing ending EVER!!! anyways...i read the first paragraph of Butterflies and was like holy shit, i so can't get sucked into this right now! because i could tell i would probably end up not sleeping or eating for the rest of the day if i read more...but i will get into it!!! reading the fanfiction has given me a physical NEED to get that damn DVD now!!! novemeber 28th is too damn far away...gah!

i'm 17, and i definately choose the smutty version [TJ: of Butterflies], always (hee). i read way too much gay fanfiction smut, and i need some boobs in my fandom! that makes me hella sad that he won't be in any commentaries!!! and if you could make an account for me [TJ: Here on our message board, which I offered] that would be wonderful! i can't guarantee how much i will be involved in it because i'm in like 5,0000000000000000000000000 fan communities right now!!!

Thanks for the link to the website, and thanks for creating it! I have to confess I've been distracted by a lot of other things, so I haven't kept up on the latest Chris news. Glad to know where to find it. The website looks great, I haven't had much time to look around it yet, but I'll spend more time there soon.

I just recently posted in my journal what I'd found of Chris's features, the ones that hadn't come out yet, and was talking about how he'd made tons of movies that just weren't being released yet. For the three or so people who read my journal, one might be mildly interested.

I'm not sure I can handle Alpha Dog. I watch a lot of violent movies/TV shows, but I find the whole basic premise so very disturbing, and the trailer really got to me. I haven't watched American Gun yet; it never seems to be available at the video store. I'm sure I'll get to see it soon, though. Fanboys should be awesome.

It does seem unfair that they don't have simultaneous releases of movies in all countries.

That's one reason I've been out of touch, I think. I was counting on Melissa's website for updated info, and she hadn't updated in such a long time I just gave up.

I'm glad you got to meet Chris, and I look forward to reading about it.

Man, I remember waaaay back in the day with the (it's got to be said) crap official site. I used to bug his uncle about that. Oh, and if he's had the same management as he used to, they were always pretty sucky. I never got an autographed headshot from them.

Anyway I love all the stuff on the site!!!

I asked this person if she was talking about UTA... If so, Chris might never get our stuff. And we're his unofficial official site now? LOL Yeah, somehow, kinda, I guess...

And, see? People tend to give up when you don't update your site anymore. That's why we need to make sure that doesn't happen. Seems like we were pretty much tenacious and stuck with Melissa's message board despite the fact that the site had been abandoned.

TeeJay, that is insanely awesome that you got to meet the Chris Marquette!!!! I checked out chris-marquette.com(which is awesome, by the way) and I loved reading some of the interviews (and hearing sound clips!) And it was great to hear how he felt about Trial & Error etc. Phew, glad they didn't like it either!

I can't imagine how cool it was for you to actually met him. That is one an incredible experience. I am so happy for you

I wish that we knew the entire story. JOAN OF ARCADIA needed a single vision and a strong hand at the controls, to insure consistency and protect if from meddlers from the network. But from Chris' account, it sounds like it was at the mercy of stupid new writers who couldn't tell the difference between it and the O.C. and disrespected the actors' expertise. What went wrong?

Chris Marquette, Shawn Hatosy tidbits

Much thanks to the Chris Marquette fansite for posting my "Alpha Dog" review, as well as some of my comments about Chris' performance in the film. It is much appreciated. Their site is new and topnotch in quality and graphics. Check it out.

Another actor from "Alpha Dog" (out in wide release January 12), as well as "Little Athens" (out on DVD November 21), Shawn Hatosy, had a dazzling guest appearance on last nite's ER. The episode was directed by the show's creator, John Wells. Here are some of the comments left at IMDb about the show:

"That was the one of the best guest star performances that E.R has had in years. His acting was freaking brilliant! He honestly brought me to tears, I mean he was that incredible. I've always known that Shawn is a great actor but I just never knew how much until tonight. He blew me away and I was deeply moved. Shawn you rock!"

"I don't even watch ER, but I happened to turn to it while channel surfing last night. Shawn kept me from changing the channel! I was glued to this show I never watch, and all because of Shawn's performance!!! When I click on the files (deleted scenes from TGND) it takes me to the Apple.com site and asks if I want to buy the software to view the bloody things ... $20 a pop!

I was looking up some Fanboys stuff to try and find a release date, and I stumbled across this delightful Chris Marquette website. I found an interview with him talking about Joan of Arcadia and more specifically, the Adam-the-Cheater storyline. I LOVE that he just confirms everything I always say about network producers RUINING my show trying to get their ratings from the WRONG DEMOGRAPHIC.

"I hated it! I got in the biggest argument with all the producers. You have no idea.[...]And I was like, and there is absolutely no reason why he should do this. I fought that for about two weeks when I first got the script, and then when I went in, I even fought about, like OK, well I guess if he has to cheat, what exactly are we gonna do with it then? Is it all gonna be in vain, is there like a—? You know, I tried to make a reason, you know?"

You know, the fans hated that episode.

"Yeah, I bet they did. And that's what I told them! And so I'm glad to finally know, because I kept telling them. I was like guys, they're gonna— You don't understand, this makes no sense. And to be honest, you know, what they wanted is, they wanted, the studio, those people, wanted to make the show for kids. They wanted to make it for young kids. Literally, I think they wanted to make it like The O.C.[...]Yeah, we were all upset. You have no— Amber and I sat down with Jim Hayman and Peter Schindler, and uh, a couple— I forgot exactly who wrote that episode because the writers all switched so much. But we sat down with all five of them and we were like we can't do this. I don't know what you guys are doing, but we can't do this. Like, I mean, you want us to break up, we'll break up, but don't like have him cheat on her. Amber was upset, I was upset, everybody was. It really didn't make any sense. Michael Welch came to me, Jason Ritter came to me, even Mary Steenburgen, everybody came and was like, I don't understand why they're doing it. I was like, me either! I keep telling 'em, so... Everybody was completely against it."

Did no one tell these people that The OC sucks?

Thanks for sharing the picture. And I read the interview. I'm really glad you asked him about Trial and Error and was so happy to find out that none them wanted Adam to cheat on Joan.
