Adam is a very talented man, you never know what he's capable of.  I know, you missed Adam, now you miss Joan, then you're gonna miss Grace.  You're just never happy tongue wink

Thanks, Carol.  I fixed the mistake.  Honestly I could never see Grace as a softie for babies.  Maybe when they get a bit older and don't poop as much, she'll be awesome with them, but not at that special age when projectile vomit is a regular occurrence wink

Haha, I think my second name must be Grace! big_smile Love the new story, Laura!

Good news: posted a new story and... Joan's back! big_smile   Bad news: she's spending time with the porcelain Gods.   More bad news: Adam's gonna need the toilet next, so she better be done with it.

At that exact moment, I don't think "yay!" was the first thing on his mind.   Probably "ohhhh shit!" and, of course, the obligatory "how?"  But eventually, it would be "yay!"

I meant yay for me.  Because he's the sweetest daddy ever.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

I was really wondering about the undertones of this one. How old are they? Are they ready to start a family? Are they married? Somehow it didn't sound like Joan really wanted a baby then, and to me it felt like she wasn't deliriously happy to tell Adam. Which is fine, I was just wondering. smile

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

They are married.  She was listed as Joan Girardi Rove in the characters tongue   They're like early-mid twenties.  And if they weren't ready to start a family well... too late.   In my mind, she was happy about the baby, but not about the getting sick.   Or she was just scared to tell him.  If he hadn't come into the bathroom, she could have thought a bit longer about what to say to him.

When Adam finds out he's gonna be a daddy, there's two possible things he could do: get really excited and go buy a crib right away or burst into a puff of smoke and all that's left of him would be a hoodie on the bathroom floor.  I don't think Joan would want either at that exact moment, she was still trying to wrap her mind around it.

I thought you were insinuating in your tease here on the MB that he was gonna throw up when he heard, like from nerves or the sudden shock.  But I never got the sense that either of them were unhappy, just had the morning crankies compounded by Joan's morning sickness.

Yeah, I was.  Even though he didn't in the story, the toilet's right there.  Why shouldn't he get his use out of it? wink

Yep.  And I can imagine that he would definietly feel a little queasy at first, before the happiness kicks in.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Sorry, Laura, I guess I wasn't paying attention to the Joan Girardi-Rove thing. To my defense, I read it at 7:30 in the morning, pre-caffeine. You can't expect me to be alert at that time of day. tongue

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Posted a new Adam/Grace story.  Once again, there's a baby.  But this one is at the age Grace likes.  She tries to be surly-Grace around Adam, but the baby brings her right back to softy-Grace.

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Love it!

I actually wrote a smut scene last night.  Guess I'm feeling better, huh?  I can't share it though because it's for a Butterflies chapter that's in the works.  And it's a little ways off in the timeline too.  I mention it because there's baby-related dialog...

Aww, that's what I'm talking about!  Fantastic!!!  That's what I think about her and kids.  She doesn't dislike them, she just has no idea what to do with them.  I think when she gets really close to a baby we'll see a whole new side to Grace.

Yeah, "we", the audience might see it, but she won't let anyone else (around her) see it.  wink

Re: JoA: Adam & Adam/Joan stories

Love that new one, Laura. Softy Grace is always lovely to peek out from underneath that hard shell.

However, there's a typo to fix: She looked down and the toddler in her arms (or something like that, I can't copy the text from your LJ page for some reason).

Fixed the mistake.  And you can copy the text in my LJ, it just doesn't highlight for some reason.  If you open another window over top after you choose some text, you'll see the highlight.  It is chosen, even if it doesn't look it  wink
