Hey

I guess I should introduce myself for all those who don't know me from versatile msgboard.

I'm Susanna, as you'll know, from New Zealand, which means I'm ahead of you all time wise but mostly behind when it comes to tv shows, movies and music that isn't incredibly mainstream.

Love Joan of Arcadia which is where I got to know Chris as Adam 'that cute guy' as I used to refer to him as. Am I Grace/Luke fan too, but that's really a story for another board. smile

I believe, as I know most, if not all, of you do that Chris is a talented actor who we'll all see much more of in the future.

See ya all around.

Re: Hey

Hi Susanna, glad you found your way over here. Anne is still on vacation and Deb is away for the weekend too, so it's just you and me for now. Unless Sean comes find us, but he usually only talks about the Fanboys stuff. Which is fine. smile

Yeah, "that cute guy". I can't say I'm much into Grace/Luke. I mean, I kinda see the appeal of them being attracted to each other, but I don't really see them in a long term relationship. Deb's even gone as far as making Grace be bisexual in our "Butterflies" fan fiction story, and she's currently with a girl. And that's kinda fun to write.

You bet we're gonna see more of Chris in the future! We must!!

And we also have the same problem in Germany, we only get mostly the mainstream stuff. Especially me, who hates dubbing and wants to watch movies in their original language. Only very few are shown here without dubbing, and it's mostly always the big mainstream blockbuster ones. What am I gonna do when Fanboys comes on??? I'm pretty sure they won't show that one without dubbing. Man..... But let's worry about that when the time is here.

smile To be honest, I couldn't wait for s2, so I had to download the grace/luke clips. Haven't seen any adam s2 (apart from trial and error) waiting for that.

[Deb's even gone as far as making Grace be bisexual in our "Butterflies" fan fiction story, and she's currently with a girl.

ohhkay, yeah, I can't see that. To me it's Grace & Luke who are meant to be.
But y'know to each their own.

At least I don't have to deal with the dubbing, tho, thats not much fo a help if it never comes here in the first place. That's why I'm pretty much trying not to get into the the latest movies Chris has done, cos chance are I ain't seeing them.

Re: Hey

Hi Susanna,

Welcome.  We're really glad to see you here.

Don't let my reluctance to write the G/L ship in our future fic bug you too much.  It's not like I'm trying to take revenge for all those G/L fics in which Adam is a suicial wimp or anything.  wink

I was always intrigued by the idea some people had that Grace crushed on Joan a little when they first met.  And with Grace and Luke, I just never felt the love.  However, I am of the belief that G/L shippers and A/J shippers ought to be able to find some common ground.  So what I've written is not in any way a dig at Luke.  These are all great characters.

hah, never read any JoA fanfic, so didn't even know about any of that.

Adam's my fav character, but I'm pretty much an equal J/A, G/L shipper. I never saw any reason that the relationships would conflict.

Shoot! I have your DVDs lying on my desk right here. Man, I should really finish putting together your stuff and send it. I'll do that next week. Promise. Nag me, that usually helps. smile Truth is, I started burning the DVD right after we talked about that in the chat, and then they kinda disappeared below a pile of other DVDs (my desk is a *mess* right now and I can't seem to have the urge to tidy it up) and I forgot about them again. Sorry!!! But I'll get to them the coming week, it's just that today I won't have any more time.

Re: Hey

Susanna, take the DVDs!  TeeJay made a set for me and I have just about worn them out.  They're great!  And you will have SO MUCH FUN catching up!  I went out and bought new speakers for my PC when I got mine so I could hear the music and Adam's deep, deep Season 2 voice.  I have just had a total blast watching S2 over and over just like I did S1.  Except for the extras and seeing the eps on a bigger screen, like my TV, I don't really even need to buy the new S2 set when it comes out.  Of course, I probably will.  Unless they piss me off by not bothering to have any good extras.  God forbid.

Re: Hey

Hi Susanna!
Nice to meet you. smile
Well I can say that I like Luke/Grace, too.
Of yourse my favourite is Adam and Joan/Adam is the most important thing for me in Joa.
But L/G is also a part of it I like. Just to say this.

Don't worry about it. You're not putting me out. I just need to copy one or two more things for you onto one DVD and then I'm done. You'll be in for a treat. smile You do have a DVD drive in your PC and software with which you can watch DivX encoded AVI files, right?

Yep. I just checked, looks like my powerdvd will do the trick. big_smile

Hi Chibi! Nice to know, I'm not alone liking G/L.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to the dvds, I do have a whole season to catch up on. As impatient as I am, I'm still glad I got a season to go considering there is no more. And it means I can take my time buying s2, which I still plan to do but y'know, do have to rush to part with the money.

Re: Hey

Yes, PowerDVD should do it. Windows MediaPlayer should also do it. It might be that you don't have the DivX codec installed if you've never used it, but you can download that for free (www.divx.com). But maybe you should wait until you receive my DVDs. If they don't play or you only have video and no sound or sound and no video, then it might just be that you don't have the right codec. Scream for help if that happens. smile

And I always recommend the free VLC player because that one can pretty much play anything. I often use it when I watch downloaded stuff on the TV via TV-out jack of my laptop. Google it if you want to give it a try, I don't know the URL for the site now.

Re: Hey

Oh, and Susanna? Deb and I said we were really impressed that you stayed with the JoA fandom and Chris for so long after only having seen s1 of JoA and Just Friends and Girl Next Door. Because that's the only Chris you have, right?

Watch this grow into a full blown obsession after you've seen all the stuff I'm going to send you. smile
