Re: Random JoA Stuff...

The way you described it, Rick, Ghost Whisperer could almost be compared to JoA.  Almost.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

I have never watched "Ghost whisperer", maybe it is some kind of subconsious protest, but I was wondering if it was "inspired" by JOA

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

I was just gonna suggest Ghost Whisperer, even though I didn't want to. I almost made it through the first season, but I only ever watched it when I wanted something über-cheesy that would make me cry. Quality-wise, it couldn't hold a candle to JoA. I'm not sure you could say GW was inspired by JoA. What they had in common was that a woman has a kind of supernatural "connection" that she uses to help people. If anything, I'd say GW was a rip-off of Medium more than JoA.

But I can tell you this: Medium, compared to Ghost Whisperer, is a true work of art, on all counts. The characters feel real, the stories feel real, the problems feel real. GW was kinda the opposite. It was all very fake--the characters, the stories, and the problems. If you could even call them problems. And I'm not only saying that because GW replaced JoA.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

I did watch Ghost Whisperer, but only to see how my English skills have improved. This was really the only show I never needed subtitles for. LOL And that does mean something. But I stopped watching after Season 2, it was just too cheesy.
Medium is a great show, I love it. Even though I still have language problems sometimes.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

The hour-long poofy-haired lingerie ad known as Ghost Whisperer was not inspired by anything JoA related.  It was inspired by the life and work of James van Praggh:

http://www.vanpraagh.com/

And it would've been much more interesting with a grown man in the lead role, than a silly, vaccuous girl.  There was a very interesting TV movie about van Praggh that they could've spun into a series.  Ted Danson played the JVP-inspired character.

Wow, wouldn't that have been interesting --- if it had been Ted's show and it replaced Mary's?

So they cast Jennifer Love Hewett as this guy.  That is just crazy and so typical.  No wonder I don't watch a lot of network TV.

oh he is so cute there. Even though he's in costume you can really see the difference between Chris and Adam there. There is just a different light in his eye.

Chris is way more open and outgoing than Adam.  I think that's what you're seeing.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

Oh, yes, ma'am, I am totally with you on the lipage!  Did you read that fic where the author called them "almost too pretty for a boy"?  Sigh.

Too bad he never looked at the camera with those baby browns.  I always harp on this, but it's important:  In person, he makes amazing, warm eye contact.  He's just really engaged in whatever he's doing.  He's an in-the-moment kind of guy.  Adam guards himself very tightly.  We all know why.  Probably why he doesn't like to be touched, especially unexpectedly.  Chris isn't like that.  He's a hugger.  Ten seconds after you meet him, if he's comfortable with you.  I found myself touching him on the shoulder or the arm once or twice both times I spoke with him, like a friend, because he kind of does that too.  Easy-going, I guess you could call him.

He says in S2 Adam became, "more like me than anything else", and I think what he's indicating is Adam's growing of a backbone and engaging with the world.  I think that's why, even though the stories are not as good as in S1, we love S2 Adam.  Well, until they ruined him.

But is he really in costume? I can't recall ever seeing that toque on Adam and even though he wore a burgundy hoodie in s2 that we all loved, I don't think he ever wore one in the shade of red that the one in these pictures has. Or am I just forgetful or inattentive?

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

It's a lighter shade of red than the burgundy hoodie he wore in 2x19. Unless my color vision is way off.

Let's see if we can put them next to each other. Oh, and the one in 2x19 didn't have any... do you call them laces? The stringy things that come out of the hood.

Re: Random JoA Stuff...

I love this shot.  If you've seen the table read, you know that it's Chris intently watching Mary deliver some very heavy dialog...
JoA_2x21_TableRead_26.JPG

Awwww.  He looks a little tired...
JoA_2x21_TableRead_27.JPG

Cute.  In the table read, he's like this weird Adam/Chris hybrid...
JoA_2x21_TableRead_32.JPG

I recently learned that one's place at the table is very specific.  Chris sits beside Mary and directly across from Amber.  With Becky to his right.  Yep, that just about sums up where he fits in on the show...
