Re: Randomness

Hey guys.  Just got back online thanks to a telephone rescue by TeeJay.  As the horrible storms came through last night, my computer just popped off.  No power failure, so I was afraid it got struck by lightning or something because it would not boot back up.

Parts of downtown were devastated by the storms last night.  I watched about 5 hours of local news as they showed what happened.

The great news is that another line is passing through right now, with a tornado in it.  It's gonna pass through my area in about 15 minutes.  If I disappear again, now you know why...

I'm crossing fingers that things will be okay. Hope POS behaves now! And that the weather behaves too.

Re: Randomness

This past week we had 2 days in the 50's and now today it's cloudy and only around 36 now. Those 2 days were terrific, could actually go outside without a coat on.

Glad to hear that you're ok Deb. Hopefully nothing more will happen.

Yeah, hope everything (house, car, computer, etc.) makes it through unscathed.:(

Once, during Hurricane Rita, I sat it out in my apartment for four days of torrential rains and never lost power.  And then lost my electricity right after the storms passed.  That was in the fall, though.  You really don't wanna lose power in the spring.  It's too hot!

Re: Randomness

Thanks everybody.  We had more tornadoes today.  Lots of devastation in Polk County.  Two people died.  Lots of homes destroyed.  But it's pretty rural there so they had a lot less damage to people, cars and buildings than downtown last night.  Thirty people were injured around the sports arenas in Atlanta.  Fortunately, none of them died.  Mostly it was cuts from flying glass.

My area is unscathed.  It was just a very scary night and day.  It was all around me, but never hit.  I'm grateful to be here, with a working computer.

I do, too, Susanna!  And remember, Bonnie didn't owe Joan any particular loyalty.  She wasn't the one who betrayed Joan.  The person who did that was much closer to home.  That's why it hurt so much.

It's hard to watch, Donna.  But you do have to see it.  Those performances will knock your socks off.  Heartbreaking!

Agreed. Chris and Amber did a fantastic job in T&E.

Re: Randomness

About 10 years ago I used to live in another town. Once a bad storm went through and I didn't think much of it, but the local news channels showed that a funnel cloud was very close to where I lived. Perhaps it even went over my house.

Luckily, it never touched down, but that was the closest that a tornado ever came to me.

Some of the most stupid people in the world live in America. It's like most of the time I can't help but feel ashamed to be American. The way most people act here is embarassing. I wish I lived in Europe.

Yeah... great idea, Mel.  Move to Europe.  Because there's no annoying people anywhere else in the world.  Nope.  They're all here.  We're surrounded by morons.

People crack me up...

But I used to say that When Lacey went, I'd make a rug out of her fur.  Of course I didn't.

Re: Randomness

It seems a little gross, but I guess it's really not that different than sweaters made out of wool or mohair.  And it's MUCH better than those folks who send their late favorite pets to the taxidermist and keep the little darlings around forever.:o

Re: Randomness

Lacey would've made a coat of many colors.  She was brown, red, tan, black, white & gray.
