OK guys, I've been told that the Carrie Fisher cameo stayed in, but I don't see how the scene can make sense. In the real movie she objects to Linus leaving the hospital and carrying on with the journey because he's too sick. He talks the guys into breaking him out. Dr. Carrie busts them, but she she caves in and gives Linus some pills to help keep him going.

Edit.. I just noticed, I love that beard. That picture is much much sexier with the face fuzz! :drool: It kind of underlines the chin and I do love the guy's chin!

Since we've now seen the final cut of the movie, we need to make a few "corrections" to this thread. The scene where Linus throws away his pills did indeed not make it into the final cut. But some of the other scenes remain intact, such as the hospital scene, the diner scene, the prison scene or the Linus bedroom scene (though some of that was also reshot--I wonder why). The scene with Harry Knowles was reshot, they used the newer material from that scene for the final cut. The scene with Linus and Eric at Skywalker Ranch was also reshot and is different now (it's still a shame that William Katt didn't make it into the final cut).

All in all, we're pretty happy with the final cut, and I'm gonna write a more detailed review about it soon. For my taste they could have deepened the cancer storyline of the movie. It is essentially still a comedy, and trying to be mostly that. IMHO the movie would have fared even better with more of an emotional core.
