What a weird story...
Woman sat dead in front of TV for 42 years
May 16 2008 By Donna Watson
THE remains of a woman have been found sitting in front of her TV - 42 years after she was reported missing.
Hedviga Golik, who was born in 1924, had apparently made herself a cup of tea before sitting in her favourite armchair in front of her black and white television.
Croatian police said she was last seen by neighbours in 1966, when she would have been 42 years old.
Her neighbours thought she had moved out of her flat in the capital, Zagreb.
But she was found by police and bailiffs who had broken in to help the authorities establish who owned the flat.
A police spokesman said: "So far, we have no idea how it is possible that someone officially reported missing so long ago was not found before in the same apartment she used to live in.
"When officers went there, they said it was like stepping into a place frozen in time.
"The cup she had been drinking tea from was still on a table next to the chair she had been sitting in and the house was full of things no one had seen for decades. Nothing had been disturbed for decades, even though there were more than a few cobwebs in there."
Neighbours were shocked by the discovery.
Jadranka Markic was nine when Hedviga "vanished".
She said: "I still remember her. She was a quiet woman who kept herself to herself but was polite. We all thought that she had just moved out and gone to live with relatives."
Yeah, I'll bet she was quiet!

Yesterday, when I was about to leave from work, I had to call my boss to tell him something and at the end he said the following to me: "Alright, fine. Bye. Good night."
Me: ... ... .... :clueless: OK.

I finally got around to watching the movie "An American Crime". I had to close my eyes during some parts. The mom was a psycho and I felt soo bad for Ellen's character. Ellen Page is amazing in it!!!

I bought Candy yesterday. Yes, the Heath Ledger Movie. I wanted to watch it tonight but I can't since I have to watch the soccer game Germany vs. Portugal.

Yeah, of course I am going to watch TDK. I just have to find out where they are going to show the Original version because I will NEVER again watch any of his movies dubbed into German. I'll use subtitles if I don't understand.

So for the past week they are doing major road work in my neighborhood. They have dug up half the street and now the road is one way. So I can't park in front of the house, I have to park on a side street. Which sucks when I do grocery shopping and have to lug everything from across the street.
They have been doing it for a little over a week now and they are going so slow.
They are supposed to put in new pipes and put in a completely new road.
Just a little update on my roommate. According to my "landlord" he is doing slightly better. He can speak a little better and walk somewhat. He maybe discharged in a few weeks and will live with friends. Already have a new roommate who moved in a few days ago.

I've been wondering about your roommate, Illinoisguy. Thanks for the update!

If i can get my dvd cover signed by Chris, then i would be close to completing a tripod.

Codswallop is an excellent word.
(I thought we needed a little more randomness in this thread.)
Good luck with your autographs, Simon. Hope you complete the tripod. I had my Just Friends DVD cover signed by Chris.

You're so short-sighted. Once he gets his DNA/cloning operation set up in his garage, he can make his own Tigers. He'll be RICH, I tell you. Wealthy beyond his wildest dreams.
And he might've gotten away with it, too. If it hadn't been for us meddling kids...
(sorry, i went all scooby doo there for a second)
Great auction item. How did you find it?
