For some reason the 409 stories on my fanfic journal doesn't phase me... but having a 72 page thread does

All the fictional characters in my head need to go to sleep for a few months.

Well, you got your wish, I guess I posted a new A/G fic. There's really no point to it other than I suddenly had a need to write Grace wake Adam up in an unpleasant way. Luckily (or maybe not so luckily, depending on how you look at it) I couldn't bring myself to write the most unpleasant way to wake him up.

Someone posted a story on FFN where 17-year-old Joan runs away and ends up as a prostitute. That's a little far-fetched, isn't it? I can see her do many things, but never end up a hooker.

It's one thing to want to write a really OOC story, but if you gotta do it write it well, which "miissBuffy" didn't.

I fail to understand the allure of writing these characters OOC. They're too rich and wonderful as they are.

I actually think some of these people think they're writing them in character. It speaks volumes about their writing abilities if that's what they're doing. Almost like they don't understand most of their mannerisms and the way they talk, so they just make it up and get them out of character. Most likely because they aren't big fans of the show and managed to catch a few episodes every couple months.

That's part of the reason why I don't like my early writing on FFN anymore. I wrote a bunch of early stories, that now have unfinished sequels, when I didn't understand the characters and they were out of character. I can't even stand to look at them.
