Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

I understand how you feel, Irina. It also wasn't a movie I could identify with. There was no story to speak of that you could follow, and that's probably the movie's weakest point. I quite liked it for its cinematography, and also for some of the actors in it. It just barely made my Chris Top 10. I might watch it again some time in the future, I believe there's more things to discover on a second viewing, but it's not a movie where I have a strong desire to do so.

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

I didn't "identify" with it either since I was never a partier in high school.  My primary interest in it was watching Chris and Sean finally get to play brothers.  And it was fun to see Aaron and Mike again.  And John Robinson's character was really sweet.  That's the movie in a nutshell for me.

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

I really liked it. Seeing high school kids wanting to fit in and face peer pressure are issues that I can really relate to. This movie really reflects that a lot. There's a lot of really great actors in it as well and at least 5 hot guys including Chris and Sean.

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

That's a wee bit too scruffy for me.  Felix looks like he smells bad.  But I do like him a bit rough around the edges.  As long as he smells as good as he has the times I've gotten hugs.  Guess that's why I'm so stuck on this pic right now.  It's scruff without the stink...

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

What's really interesting is, when you look at the script of the movie (yes, apparently one exists), none of Felix's dialogue that is shown in the movie matches the one in the script. The scenes with Felix and Mod are similar to those in the script, but yet the dialogue is different, most of the time it's longer in the movie than in the script. If it had been filmed as in the script, Felix would have had maybe three or four lines. I'm glad they let Chris and Sean improv a lot.

Some of Michael Welch's lines were also different, but the scene with the prank call was almost exactly as scripted.

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

I started to watch this last night. After the first twenty minutes, I am not impressed.

At a certain part in your life. Probably when too much of it has gone by. You will open your eyes and see yourself for who you are. Especially for everything that made you so different from all the awful normals.

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

Yeah, it's a bit... undercooked.  I only really like it because of a couple of the performances.

Nice to see you, Shell!

Re: Remember The Daze (formerly The Beautiful Ordinary)

Those who don't like it, usually all have the same complaint: It doesn't have a plot to speak of. Nope, it really doesn't. You just gotta move along with the flow and take it in, take it for what it is. I can't say I disliked the movie, but I didn't love it either. I might watch it again a second time some time, but it's not one of those movies that I would readily pop into the DVD player for a repeat showing. What I enjoyed most (of course) was seeing Chris portray a character he hasn't quite portrayed before.

A warm welcome from me too, Shell!
