The planets have aligned.  My previous Poofy-Haired Hour-Long Lingerie Ad avoidance tool, The Dog Whisperer is moving to 9 PM starting next Friday night because JoA is back where it belongs.  smile

I really love Cesar.

Re: "Joan of Arcadia" on SciFi Channel

Very cool!  God's in His heaven and all's right with the world.

Looks like the original music is what they're airing, too.  I compared tonight's pilot with the disk I got from Uncle Les.  The officially sanctioned DVD didn't have "Kryptonite".

The DVDs didn't have 'Tomorrow' either, I remember it in the original show though.  It's good to have the old music back big_smile

I thought that was the case with Kryptonite.  Not a big deal to me because I never liked that song.

It wasn't anything, really.  She wanted him to train her dogs, but really it was to plug both their shows.

For me, the first time for Joan was near the end of Book of Questions.  She said something like "I couldn't stand to lose two people I love."

I finally remembered another example.  It was in that scene near the end of QotZ when Joan realizes that they probably shouldn't necessarily go to the same colleges.  "We want to control this because we love each other.  But that's exactly why we shouldn't."

Now there's an original version song I miss, the late Warren Zevon's cover of Steve Winwood's Back In The High Life...

Re: "Joan of Arcadia" on SciFi Channel

Here's another great Warren Zevon song that they kept... and someone made a Judith tribute from it...

And a fantasticly expressive Zevon song that kinda suits Adam, post T&E (beware foul language)...

Re: "Joan of Arcadia" on SciFi Channel

Wow, I know Adam's not a big part of Touch Move, but I forgot how little he really contributes.  This is the sum total of all his dialog...

"Wrestlers?"

"Wrestlers?"

"Did she just...?"

That's it.  Did Chris even need to show up for that table read?

That's true, but later Grace gets more short-changed, so I'm glad she got her due early on.

Did anybody else wonder why the missing kid's father was wearing Lynnie Carmichel's sweater?:P

I just loved the face Adam made in the "wrestlers" scene.  He looked so confused and a tiny bit hurt.

I wish Chris could have had more scenes in JOA as Adam. He was the coolest character on the show.

Re: "Joan of Arcadia" on SciFi Channel

looks like they're airing "The Boat" a half-hour earlier Friday.  I don't know if it'll be on at all next week.  I'm a little worried.  If the sci fi thing doesn't work out, I hope the show finds a home on Hallmark or Lifetime.

Is it possible that they bumped JoA back half an hour to make room for the Dr. Who finale? hmm

Yes, they did.  I'm sorry, I should've said something.  Fortunately, Carol told me about it.

Re: "Joan of Arcadia" on SciFi Channel

Is it sad that I recited Adam's entire monologue in the scene in Joan's garage almost word for word?

Re: "Joan of Arcadia" on SciFi Channel

Not at all.  I just did that in the book store scene, which I just decided is where our Adam makes his first appearance.  His voice dropped into that gentleness and concern we all love.  And we were just told by Mrs. LandingGod that he has burdens that Joan should take on.  Also, I think at the end of the garage scene, we see him glance at her for the very first time like he's really crushing on her.  Hard.

Re: "Joan of Arcadia" on SciFi Channel

I actually really want to write a fic about Adam around this time... he kind of admits to Grace he has a tiny crush on Joan, but Grace straightens him out: he's in love.

Do it!

That song at the end was really perfect for the scene.  Do you know what it is?
