I just heard on the news about a pretty strong earthquake happening in Los Angeles.

Yeah, the quake really rattled things in the house. It was a 5.6 about 30 east of downtown.
Joan: So, my true nature is to be a catalyst? That is mad anti-climatic.
God: Anti climactic. Anti-climatic means you're against the weather.

It doesn't sound like anyone was hurt, thankfully.

Wow. Yeah, glad it wasn't terrible.

I hate earthquakes! I've been through 1 when I was living in Texas and 3 in Hawaii.

They just showed Judge Judy during the quake, she was filming her show and basically telling this dude to grow a pair. "I'll tell you what you have to do, because you seem to have no clue. You need to..." then she trails of when everything starts shaking and just kind of looked around before bolting. When she ran, everyone started freaking out.

LOL! That sounds hilarious!

Terrific news. No UPS strike.
United Parcel Service's familiar "big brown trucks" won't have to stop rolling on Chicago area streets after all.
With hours before the deadline and negotiations through the night, UPS and one of its Chicago area unions have reached a tentative contract agreement.
At 6:30 a.m. today (Thursday, July 31), Teamsters Local 705, which represents 11,000 UPS employees in the Chicago area (1,200 in Palatine), agreed verbally to a new five-year contract, Local 705 secretary-treasurer Steve Pocztowski said.
Local 705 also represents workers at UPS hubs in Northbrook, Franklin Park and elsewhere in the Chicago area.
The union voted July 20 to authorize a strike Friday, Aug. 1, after rejecting a contract offer by the company earlier in the month.
The contract approval is a handshake agreement at this point, UPS spokesman Norman Black said.
He would not discuss any terms of the new five-year deal until the union ratifies the contract.
The contract mirrors the national Teamsters contract signed recently, Black said.
Local 705's contract, however, is an improvement for its members over the national union's deal, Pocztowski said.
The tentative agreement includes a $26 a week pension payment increase and a 70-cent hourly pay increase for the first year of the contract with 5-cent increases in additional years, he said.
The new contract also grants additional vacation time and an extra optional day off; the new contract did not force the union to give anything up from the previous six-year agreement, Pocztowski said.
"We did not lose a thing," he said.
Given the contract improvements, Pocztowski expects the contract to be approved by a vote of Local 705 members.
The vote is expected to take up to a month as ballots must be mailed out to thousands of Local 705 members, Pocztowski said.
"The feedback we are getting is ecstasy," he said.

Wow, that's relief. Now, if only SAG would make a deal.

That was actually the second time Mary was responsible for changing the course of my life. But this time was much more significant.

Yes, I've read a lot of discussions about the Montauk Monster. It's BIZARRE. And what's that thing on its wrist? I first saw this right after I saw the pig with the monkey's face. I was wigged out for hours.

Someone said that turtle shells are part of their backbone, so they can't just get out of it like that. Lots of people were saying it's a dog and the beak isn't a beak, but a snout with the fur and skin off. No way. It's some kind of chimera, just like the freaking pig with the monkey face, fer frig sake.

Yeah, I always thought a shell was apart of their body too, not like how on Franklin he just went in his shell like it was his home or something.
It's not a dog too, I call BIG time BS on that. It doesn't look like any kind of animal without it's skin or hair, what about the webbed feet? Or like you pointed out that thing on it's front leg...What the hell is that about? I read some where that there is a animal testing place not to far from where it watched up but even then...What the heck could they be testing to make THAT?

When I was a kid our family traveled around a lot. Once we were at this zoo in Spain that had white orangutans. It was so creepy because their hands looked human. My brother got sick and ran out of the place.
