Several Alpha Dog stars named 50 Hottest Young Stars

The Movie Fanatic has listed several of the Alpha Dog co-stars in their Top 50 Hottest Young Stars list.

Anton Yelchin. There was this David Duchovny flick called House of D that starred a very young but talented Anton Yelchin. The Russian-born Yelchin was already making a name for himself in TV and it was just a matter of time before he started making movies. Duchovny cast Yelchin as the young Tom Warshaw (the older version is played by Duchovny himself), an American artist living in Paris, who begins to discover who he really is, and returns to his home to reconcile with his family and friends.

After that, Yelchin went on to play one of the leads in Alpha Dog. But it was in Charlie Bartlett that Yelchin took his career to the next level...

"Although hundreds of hopefuls auditioned for the role of Charlie Bartlett, Anton Yelchin essentially sealed the deal in his first meeting with Poll. "He blew me away," recalls Poll. "I just felt like here's Charlie Bartlett. He was incredibly empathetic and really funny. And what made me realize he was perfect is that he said it was the honesty and optimism of Charlie that drew him to it. If anyone was ever destined to play a part, I think it was Anton as Charlie Bartlett." says director Jon Poll.

Latest Movies: Yelchin is now part of the new star-studded Star Trek flick, playing Pavel Chekov.

Ben Foster. He's the star you love to hate. Ben Foster seems to prefer playing the bad guy that Hollywood has began to offer him just that- the evil villain! In his three recent films- 30 Days of Night, 3:10 to Yuma and Alpha Dog, Foster was relentless, vicious even, as he played three different characters with such power and conviction, you might run away from him if you happen to meet the guy in public!

As the cold-blooded killer Charlie Prince, Ben Wade's (Russell Crowe) sidekick in 3:10 to Yuma, Foster was perfect for the role. Boston Globe's critic Ty Burr described Foster performance as "mesmerizing."

Aside from the 3 recent movies mentioned, Ben is also known for his role as Ben Kurtzman in Barry Levinson's Liberty Heights. It's one of Foster's earliest roles. He also played Warren Worthington III / Angel in X-Men: The Last Stand.

Coming up: A lead role in Birds of America.

Emile Hirsch. He is everybody's dreamboy- young, gorgeous and handsome. As Sedgewick Bell in The Emperor's Club he charmed his way into our hearts. But as Duncan in The Mudge Boy he brought in a certain vulnerability into his character that we're utterly convinced he's no ordinary young actor. Hirsch continues to amaze and at this moment, he is Hollywood's most promising young lead actor.

Famous Roles: Aside from the roles already mentioned, Hirsch is also known as Jay in Lords of Dogtown, and as Christopher McCandless in Sean Penn's latest feature Into the Wild, the one role that's giving the young actor Oscar buzz.

Why he's on the top10: He is the most exciting young Hollywood talent this very minute.

Coming Up: Two upcoming high-profile movies- Milk now in pre-production where he plays Cleve Jones and Speed Racer in the title role.

I just realized that this list must be somewhat old as some of their 'upcoming' movies have already been released.

And sadly, Chris Marquette isn't listed in the top 50.

I guess that's because he hasn't been in any medium to high profile movie in the past two years where he really stood out. Look at all these guys: Anton, Ben, Emile. They've had lead roles in recent movies that people actually noticed, they're in the public eye way more than Chris is. Doesn't mean it's right that Chris isn't listed, but I can certainly see why he isn't. Life kinda sucks that way sometimes. Let's hope his time will come.

Chris should be on that list. He needs more lead roles.
