If you're referring to the one I posted, it's from Shadows & Light, when Adam's comforting Joan in the hallway after everything falls apart for Stevie and Joan's feeling horrible for wrecking her life. There's so much great stuff in that ep.  It's one of my favorites.

She says:  "I thought you were mad at me"
He says: "No, I don't really matter right now."

THAT"S my Adam, not the thing the writers turned him into just a couple of weeks later.

It was a cheap ploy for ratings.  As Chris said, they tried to turn the show into a teen soap, like The O.C.  He hated that storyline, loved playing that relationship with Amber.
